Job Description

Behind each successful and high-quality product, there’s a team of professionals who work on maintaining and improving its quality standard and serving as a sentry against bugs and defects to stop them from getting to users. This is what drives our team to maintain things in order! Bugs will happen - they’re an inevitable part of the software development cycle. What we want to avoid is the chaos of discovering them too late in the development process.

As a QA Engineer at Trustly, you yearn to research and use the most advanced tools to test our code from as many angles as possible to make sure it can withstand a high load and perform under pressure, all the while working as planned and being a pleasure for our customers to use. In addition to monitoring the quality of the product on different stages, they also write scripts (which are codes by definition) to check the product code the developers have implemented.
What you'll do:
  • Create and elaborate test plans to validate features and bug fixes that come from the DEV team.
  • Perform exploratory and end-to-end tests in order to find bugs or validate if there are no regression bugs.
  • Create and develop automated test cases for both backend and frontend teams.
  • Identify opportunities to elaborate/suggest/create test cases to implement automation on any regression already identified by the team.
  • Research and suggest new ways to improve quality and tools for testing.
  • Active role during sprint planning and scrum meetings within the squads.
  • Work closely with the development team and Product to improve the existing product.
  • Maintain standards for reliability and performance of production
Who you are:
  • Minimum qualifications:
  • Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
  • Relevant work experience in the QA area not just in testing phase
  • Experience with large software systems in Java, JavaScript or .Net.
  • Adept at Agile development process (daily stand ups, test driven development, etc).
  • Familiarity with JUnit, TestNG, Selenium or other test frameworks.
  • Experience with OO development paradigm.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Knowledge in Gitflow processes.
  • Experience in business, training and processes documentation.
  • Ability to communicate in English.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous and diligent attributes.
  • Great team player.

  • Desirable qualifications:
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools, like Jenkins, Bamboo or anything related to that.
  • Familiarity with JMeter and other tools to perform stress, performance and load tests.
  • Adept at Agile development process (daily stand ups, test driven development, etc).
