Job Description
Company Description
Welcome to the good side of tech đź‘‹
You might have heard about us, but with a different name: Doctoralia. It all started more than 10 years ago, when we asked ourselves: is anyone in healthcare thinking about patients? We jumped in and we empowered patients by giving them access to leave and read reviews about their visit. We then provided doctors with the technology to manage bookings easily and save time, so they could devote themselves to what they always wanted: treating patients. Now Docplanner is creating a healthcare ecosystem that seamlessly connects patients with doctors while integrating smart tools to provide quicker, more precise diagnoses and treatments. And today is the day in which we ask you: wanna join us in the next step of helping people live longer, healthier lives?
Docplanner at scale
We are leaders in 13 countries so far, and more than 100 million patients trust us every month. almost 300.000 specialists believe in us and our product, and so do leading venture capital funds such as Point Nine Capital, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, and One Peak Partners. And yet, employing over 2.700 people all over the globe, we managed to keep the startup mindset we started with over 10 years ago.
How does Docplanner Tech fit here?
At Docplanner Tech we are a diverse group of almost 300 people working in Engineering, Data, and Product teams. We are responsible for building the product for all locations. Many of us have been here for over 5 years, yet we still welcome each new person with great joy and excitement.
We could tell you about us, but we will let our reviews on Glassdoor speak for themselves. In case you’d like to see how it feels to be 100% yourself at work, here’s a video of us.
And why should you join us?
Because it feels good to tell your family and your friends how you made the world a little bit better. You go to bed knowing that what you do matters, and that your talents align with your beliefs.
We want to help people live longer, healthier lives, and that starts with you being you. We believe that taking the diversity of human experience into account makes a better healthcare experience for all . We’re not just different: we embrace diversity. We will encourage you to come to work your whole self, and that includes not coming to the office at all if you prefer not to, as we're 100% remote-friendly.
Job Description
About the team and your mission:
In this role, you will help us move towards our vision: patients have easy, universal access to their health data through an insights-driven experience that helps them live healthier, longer lives.
As a Backend Engineer on our Medical Records team, you will work on distributed systems by developing core products. The Medical Records team is within the Patient Engagement area, which is responsible for encouraging patients to download the app and generating as many returning monthly active users as possible. The Medical Records team, specifically, is responsible for engaging patients to save their medical documents in the patient app. This team also integrates the patient app with medical software and EHR systems (PMSs and DP SaaS).
You’ll have the opportunity to design and implement innovative features such as:
Noa Notes for Patients – Allowing patients to record their doctor visits and instantly receive a clear, AI-generated summary.
AI Health Chat – Our smart assistant that helps patients search, understand, and navigate their symptoms.
Digital Check-In – A collaborative feature enabling doctors to request patient information in advance, making consultations smoother and more efficient
You’ll thrive in this role if you’re interested in both the business and product context as well as the technical side.
Key Responsibilities:
Create new and maintain existing PHP applications.

Design and Implementation: Applying software design principles during the implementation phase to ensure high-quality outcomes and highly scalable solutions.
Operational Excellence: Managing and maintaining live production software at scale, ensuring its reliability and performance.
Focus on simplicity: Ship minimal, maintainable solutions that just work. You prize clear APIs, small PRs, clean architecture, and automation that removes toil, making systems easy to use, test, and evolve.
Have a deep understanding of software development foundations over specific tools or frameworks. Prioritize good object-oriented programming practices, TDD, domain-driven design (DDD), event-driven architectures, and architectural styles and design patterns.
