We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer (5+ years) with strong backend and ETL experience to help build the next generation of the customer data architecture.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in large-scale data environments, understands high-volume ingestion patterns, and enjoys designing reliable, reusable, and well-structured data pipelines.
You won’t be working on frontend tasks — this is a highly technical backend/data role focused on ETL pipelines, ingestion systems, BI-ready delivery, and cloud-native integrations. You’ll join a brand-new, highly-skilled team where engineering excellence, autonomy, and ownership are key.

Responsibilities

- Design, build, and maintain high-volume ETL pipelines and ingestion systems.
- Architect reusable data integrations to replace legacy, bucket-based custom reporting.
- Deliver BI-ready datasets consumed by tools such as Snowflake, Tableau, Looker, or internal platforms.
- Build logging, auditing, and monitoring tools to ensure reliability and visibility across pipelines.
- Support the migration to a next-generation data platform with strong emphasis on scalability.
- Debug complex data flows across AWS services, Postgres, SQL Server, RDS, DynamoDB, and custom ATS integrations.
- Collaborate closely with the TPM, Full-Stack Engineer, and other Data Engineers on architecture and design.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and proper handling of massive customer datasets with many custom fields.
- Work hands-on with AWS-native components such as Lambda, SQS, Fargate, S3, containerization, and ingestion orchestration.

Mandatory Skills
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer with backend/ETL focus.Strong experience designing and maintaining large-scale ETL pipelines.
- Advanced SQL (query optimization, analytical queries, debugging).
- Experience with high-volume data ingestion and cloud-native data processing.
- Proficiency with AWS services: S3, Lambda, SQS, Fargate, DynamoDB.
- Experience integrating external systems, APIs, or ATS-like environments.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, data validation, and operational data best practices.
- Experience with containerized workloads.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).
- Comfort working in ambiguous, early-stage team environments.

Nice to Have
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Snowflake, Tableau, Looker, Power BI.
- Experience with Python-based ETL frameworks.
- Previous experience migrating data from legacy pipelines to platform-level solutions.
- Understanding of observability patterns (metrics, tracing, structured logs).
- Light familiarity with React (preferred but not required).
- Experience working in newly formed engineering teams or undefined-scope projects.

Team & Environment
New team forming: TPM + Full-Stack Engineer + multiple Senior Data Engineers.
Work on a massive customer dataset with many custom fields and high ingestion throughput.
Strong focus on reliability, auditability, and reusable architecture.
High autonomy, close collaboration, and a strong engineering culture.
