Senior Data Analyst

Role Summary
The Senior Healthcare Data Analyst – Information Architecture Specialist is a key personnel role responsible for shaping how healthcare data is organized, analyzed, and applied to support AI-enabled solutions at the VA. This role bridges clinical data standards and modern data architectures to ensure that solutions are built on reliable, interoperable information. By analyzing structured and unstructured data, applying healthcare terminology standards, and designing information flows, this role ensures that pilots and MVPs deliver measurable value to Veterans and clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the structuring, organization, and management of healthcare data to support AI use cases.
  • Analyze large, diverse healthcare datasets to inform solution feasibility, testing, and evaluation.
  • Apply healthcare terminology standards (ICD-10, CPT, LOINC, RxNorm, SNOMED) to normalize and connect data.
  • Support development of algorithms, queries, and information models to derive insights.
  • Conduct realized value assessments during pilots and present findings to VA leadership in actionable formats.
  • Collaborate with solution architects, UX researchers, and engineers to align information architecture with product design.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in healthcare data management and relational database systems.
  • Proficiency in R, Python, or SQL/NoSQL for analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare terminology standards.
  • Ability to design logical data models and document information flows.
  • Preferred: prior experience with VA data systems and standards.
