The Role:
Our product designers oversee the user experience at Beam and create impactful, effective experiences that address our users needs. We are looking for an experienced Lead Product Designer to join our Product Design team and help craft multiple areas within the user experience. As a Lead Product Designer, you’ll drive the creation of our design infrastructure including implementing best practices around tooling, measurement, and user research, as well diving into new and existing products to enhance the customer experience. You’ll work alongside Engineering and Product teams to provide the vision and guidance of what we build, empower them to make better decisions, and design experiences that impact the lives of hundreds of thousands of people.

What You Will Do
- Design impactful, research-informed, and goal-oriented digital experiences that balance user needs with business objectives and drive measurable outcomes.
- Champion and apply design thinking principles to frame problems, generate insights, and guide teams toward innovative, user-driven outcomes
- Collaborate cross-functionally with designers, product owners, engineers, marketers, and business leaders to find innovative, elegant, and practical solutions to complex design challenges
- Facilitate design sessions, reviews, and ideation meetings to build alignment with cross-functional partners and foster shared learning
- Communicate design vision and rationale effectively to advocate for design excellence across the organization
- Conduct user research, analyze insights, and translate findings into actionable design decisions that address user needs
- Lead the design of end-to-end service experiences, mapping user journeys and touch points to create cohesive, efficient, and human-centered solutions
- Evaluate and integrate new methodologies into the design process to improve speed, quality, and impact
- Flex your UX writing skills—helping write clear, concise, and empathetic copy within your work
- Mentor and guide fellow designers, fostering a growth culture and helping them to elevate their craft and expertise
What Skills Will Help You Be Successful
- 8+ years of relevant work experience and a portfolio with case studies
- Proven track-record of solving complex problems and creating holistic user experiences
- Experience developing user flows, wireframes, and functional prototypes
- Experience crafting refined visual design solutions with high proficiency in Figma and with a high attention to detail
- Experience contributing to the development and maintenance of a scalable design system
- Skilled at collaborating with engineering teams and providing detailed UI specifications, interaction design (IxD), and annotations
- Experience designing mobile applications and mobile experience using mobile-first principles and responsive design best practices, with a high fluency in iOS and Android interaction patterns
- Strong presentations skills and ability to articulate design decisions and reasoning to a wide range of audiences
- Stakeholder management skills and crafting streamlined feedback loops that foster productive collaboration to make you and your experiences better
- Experience designing with WCAG Accessibility guidelines
- Experience using analytical tools (like Looker) and solid understanding of front-end languages (html/css)
- Proficiency in modern design and prototyping tools, with an openness to adopting emerging technologies that enhance workflow efficiency
$132,000 - $155,000 a year
Compensation and Benefits:Beam offers a competitive base salary paired with an attractive variable compensation structure.Employees benefit from performance-based bonuses and incentives, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance. Additionally, Beam provides a 401(k) plan with company matching, flexible time off, and the opportunity to participate in the equity program.
The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position.
