About the Role

As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and scaling the cloud infrastructure that powers AI-driven platform. This is a long-term, hands-on engineering position focused on automation, observability, and security. You’ll operate and harden AWS environments, automate deployments using Infrastructure-as-Code, and build resilient CI/CD and monitoring workflows that ensure stability and compliance as we grow.
You’ll collaborate closely with engineers across backend, ML, and product teams to improve system performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

    • Cloud Infrastructure Management
    • Operate and maintain AWS infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and cost optimization.
    • Manage access, networking, and security controls in line with best practices.
    • Automation & Infrastructure-as-Code
    • Automate deployments, scaling, and environment provisioning using Terraform or equivalent IaC tools.
    • Standardize configuration management across environments for repeatability and consistency.
    • CI/CD & Observability
    • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline release processes.
    • Implement and optimize monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to reduce MTTR.
    • Create incident response workflows and assist in root cause analysis and remediation.
    • Containerization & Security
    • Manage containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) for scalable workloads.
    • Drive patching and vulnerability remediation to meet security and compliance requirements (e.g., ISO 27001).
    • Continuous Improvement
    • Collaborate with the Reliability Engineer and Tech Lead to improve platform scalability and resilience.
    • Recommend cost-efficient infrastructure solutions as usage grows.

Requirements

    • 4–7 years of professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability, or Cloud Infrastructure roles.
    • AWS (Core Skill) — 4+ years managing production infrastructure (IAM, EC2, VPC, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, networking, and security).
    • Infrastructure-as-Code (Core Skill) — 3+ years with Terraform (or CDK/CloudFormation), automating infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
    • CI/CD (Core Skill) — 3+ years building and maintaining pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
    • Experience managing containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
    • Solid understanding of monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to support observability and incident management.
    • Exposure to vulnerability management, patching, and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001.
    • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills with a proactive mindset.

Nice to Have

    • Experience with cost optimization strategies for AWS services.
    • Familiarity with CloudWatch, Prometheus, or similar monitoring tools.
    • Basic scripting or automation with Python or Bash.
    • Prior experience in regulated or enterprise environments.

Benefits

    • Fixed Shifts: 12:00 PM - 9:30 PM IST (Summer) | 1:00 PM - 10:30 PM IST (Winter).
    • No Weekend Work: Real work-life balance, not just words.
    • Day 1 Benefits: Laptop and full medical insurance provided.
    • Support That Matters:  Mentorship, community, and forums where ideas are shared.
    • True Belonging: A long-term career where your contributions are valued.
At Smart Working, you’ll never be just another remote hire.

Be a Smart Worker — valued, empowered, and part of a culture that celebrates integrity, excellence, and ambition.

If that sounds like your kind of place, we’d love to hear your story.
