Role Overview:

The Senior Front-End Developer is responsible for creating and leading the visual and interactive design of web applications, bringing strong creative vision combined with expert knowledge of front-end architecture, web navigation, user experience principles, and information architecture. This role involves architecting, developing, testing, refining, maintaining, and thoroughly documenting the look, feel, and flow of websites and user interfaces to deliver exceptional user experiences. The developer ensures seamless integration of data and functionality from the back-end team by accurately rendering and displaying application logic in the browser, precisely as intended by the customer, UX expert and the back-end developers, while enabling intuitive navigation and reliable access to information across the platform. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead our front-end architecture and development efforts for Foresight and ICM, owning responsibility for our front end development teams, who could be remote contractors (e.g. in India). Responsible for creating user experiences that delight our end users. 
  • Help refine our roadmap and FE stories.  
  • Own and validate authentication, authorization (including RBAC), and Next.js web server components to achieve sufficiently granular access controls. Will mitigate and fix vulnerabilities in accordance with our SLAensuring minimal downtime, and complete resolution of customer escalations.  
  • Design and execute unit and end to end tests for authentication, authorization, workflows and application functionality; collaborate with customer IT teams during onboarding and initial installations to ensure seamless first-time sign-ins and production readiness.  
  • Lead prototyping, testing, documentation and validation of SSO and authentication and migrations, verifying portability, security, and backward compatibility with no regressions.  
  • Champion React frontend quality practices: lead upgrades, governance of shared libraries (including material), and enforcement of sustainable coding standards to prioritize customer success and long-term maintainability.  
  • Create and ensure adherence to Cutsforth Design Systems for our front end applications. 
  • Take ownership and provide deep collaboration with QA  for our applications, including validation of identification and creation of new UI components (e.g., split buttons in shared libraries) to eliminate duplicates and improve workflow consistency.  
  • Establish and maintain company-wide JavaScript, TypeScript, and React linting configurations (published to npm) to reduce decision fatigue, enforce consistency, and prevent quality issues at the source.  
  • Author and promote key security documentation, such as secure frontend development guidelines for cloud-tier applications using React, ensuring widespread adoption as a reference standard.  
  • Collaborate with IT to provision and test performance environments (e.g., Azure AKS clusters using Terraform and Helm) and validate scalability, reliability, and security under load.  
  • Serve as a Security Champion: contribute to threat modeling policies (including redefining STRIDE frameworks), leverage AI for threat categorization, deliver team training, and adapt organizational threat modeling specifically for frontend contexts.  
  • Conduct comprehensive testing across functional, security, regression, and performance areas; identify, document, and track defects while verifying fixes to maintain platform integrity. 
     
Required Qualifications:
  •  Proven expertise in secure authentication and authorization systems (OIDC, RBAC, Auth0, ForgeRock, SSO migrations) with a track record of delivering zero-disruption implementations and customer-facing validations.  
  • Strong hands-on experience with Node.js backend services and web servers, emphasizing security hardening, vulnerability prevention, and high-uptime reliability.  
  •  Deep proficiency in React architecture, large-scale shared libraries, upgrades, and best practices (including linting standardization across JavaScript/TypeScript/React).  
  • Experience leading or contributing to UI working groups, authoring technical guidelines/documents (e.g., on module organization, testing, localization, custom elements), and ensuring frontend sustainability.  
  • Solid background in threat modeling (STRIDE), security champion initiatives, frontend-specific security practices, and training teams on secure development.  
  • Familiarity with infrastructure tools (Terraform, Helm, AWS) for testing/performance environments and cross-team collaboration for deployments/migrations.  
  • Proficiency in full-stack development/testing concepts (React/TypeScript/JavaScript/Node.js, with exposure to C# or Ext JS a plus).  
  • Excellent documentation, training, and presentation skills (e.g., internal conference-level contributions).  
  • Demonstrated ability to work in Agile environments, resolve customer-impacting issues proactively, and focus on zero customer disruption. 
  • Bachelors of Science in Computer Science 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in platforms with lab management, access control, or enterprise IT integrations.  
  • Background in performance/security testing tools and methodologies. 
  • Twelve or more years of experience in areas outlined above. 
Other Qualifications:
  • Successfully pass background check for cybersecurity access requirements.
