LastPass is looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer:
In this role, you will help shape and enhance key features of the LastPass web application and its ecosystem - securing the digital lives of our users. You will design and deliver impactful features that balance user needs with engineering challenges, while driving strategic initiatives to evolve the platform. Beyond coding, you will refine processes for efficient, high-quality delivery, promote best practices, and mentor others to foster a culture of excellence and build scalable, robust solutions.
About the Team:
The team is a senior-level, international group where members learn from each other and tackle platform-wide challenges. They work with complex technologies like frameworks, stores, and service workers, and lead UI efforts such as modernizing the React app and updating legacy components. Operating in two-week sprints, the team follows agile practices including story point estimation, sprint planning, daily standups, and regular retrospectives.

You will be part of a team of experienced and motivated engineers with diverse skills and a broad focus that influences the entire engineering organization. Collaboration is key - you will frequently work with subject matter experts and leaders beyond your immediate team. Additionally, you will actively engage in engineering guilds and communities, contributing to shared knowledge and continuous improvement.

- Driving high-complexity initiatives in an evolving organization focused on modernizing the LastPass web application
- Designing solutions that ensure business continuity while enhancing the quality of the work we deliver to our users
- Improving the developer experience by providing tools and processes that support engineers across the organization
- Shaping the engineering culture to build a workplace that is both fulfilling and aligned with the needs of our customers and users
What does it take to work at LastPass?
- Excellent problem-solving skills that enable you to deliver results in a complex technological environment
- A strong command of JavaScript technologies and familiarity with modern web standards such as HTTP/2+, HTTPS, and TLS/SSL
- Experience with tools that support the creation and development of software systems
- Experience in designing, building, maintaining, and releasing software systems on time while meeting quality goals
- A security-first mindset, including an understanding of authentication and authorization protocols
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and engage with leadership
- Advanced communication skills: able to understand, process, and share information and knowledge across different levels of the organization
It's great, but not required:
- Experience with the following JavaScript development frameworks: React, Redux
- Experience with advanced Redux middleware libraries such as Redux-Saga or Redux-Observable
- Experience with modules and module bundlers (e.g., Webpack, Vite)
- Experience with micro-frontends
- Experience in implementing unit tests, debugging, and integrating high-complexity code
- Experience with version control, build, and bug tracking systems such as GitLab, GitLab CI/CD, and Jira
- Experience with secure coding practices and building highly secure applications
- Backend development experience with technologies such as PHP and .NET Core
- Knowledge of state-of-the-art development tools, techniques, and standards related to containerization and cloud-native applications
