Job Description

We are looking for Performance Video Editors —an editor who finds peace in the flow of a heavy queue and pride in a cleared ClickUp board. This isn't about making one masterpiece over a month; it’s about crafting high-quality, high-impact content at a relentless pace.

Core Tasks:

  • Edit high-volume, short-form social media videos (7–60 seconds) using existing footage, creator content, and brand assets, primarily for Meta platforms (Instagram & Facebook)
  • Produce multiple variations (“batches”) of a core edit by adjusting hooks, intros, pacing, or sequencing to support performance testing
  • Follow structured creative briefs provided via ClickUp, including scripts, inspiration links, footage, dimensions, and deadlines
  • Apply best practices for social video retention, including:
    • Strong opening hooks
    • Dynamic pacing and jump cuts
    • On-screen captions and text overlays
    • Sound design aligned with platform trends
  • Maintain consistency with Lume and Mando brand tone, voice, and visual style while adapting to different creators and formats
  • Pull supplemental b-roll or supporting clips from an existing asset library as needed
  • Manage revisions efficiently based on clear client feedback and maintain fast, reliable turnaround times
  • Organize and maintain project files, templates, and exported assets for reuse and scale

Must-haves:

  • 3+ years of hands-on video editing experience, with at least 2 years focused on short-form social content
  • Strong storytelling instincts for digital audiences (pacing, rhythm, sequencing, hook development)
  • Proficiency in at least one modern video editing tool (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar — tooling is flexible)
  • Experience working within a structured project management system (ClickUp, Asana, or equivalent)
  • Ability to produce 15–20 short-form videos per week across multiple briefs and variations
  • Comfort working from clear briefs and executing with minimal ambiguity
  • High attention to detail, strong follow-through, and ability to meet weekly deadlines
  • Willingness to support occasional adjacent marketing tasks (up to ~25% of workload), with training provided by the client
  • Able to work US business hours and consent to using a time tracking tool (Hubstaff)

Nice to have:

  • Experience using AI-enabled creative tools such as Descript, Adobe Enhance, Filmora, or similar
  • Familiarity with screen recording or demo tools (e.g., Screen.Studio, MockRocket)
  • Exposure to Meta Ads creative workflows or performance-driven content
  • General understanding (not ownership) of social algorithms and engagement mechanics
  • Prior experience editing for consumer brands in DTC or lifestyle categories

Grow into:

  • Creating new video layouts or stylistic treatments from scratch using provided briefs and references
  • Light ad copy refinement for Meta videos by recycling or adapting proven hooks and language
  • Participating in content review or approval workflows once trust is established
  • Staying current on platform trends and emerging editing techniques to inform execution
  • Collaborating more closely with internal creatives or marketers to refine asset output over time
