Job Description
We’re VOID Interactive, the kick-ass team behind the best-selling FPS game Ready or Not, which has sold over 13 million copies across all platforms. We’re a fully remote, 70+ person studio made up of seriously talented individuals from all over the world who love games and creating exceptional experiences for players.
As one of our Vehicle/Prop Artists, you will create high-quality vehicle and hard-surface assets that elevate the visual quality and gameplay experience of our projects. You will work closely with designers, technical artists, and programmers to ensure your models integrate seamlessly into the game, meet technical requirements, and uphold our standards for realism and performance. You will contribute to efficient workflows, consistent communication, and a collaborative art pipeline as part of our growing team.
What You’ll Do
- Create high-quality vehicles and hard-surface assets that meet the artistic, technical, and performance requirements of our projects.
- Model clean, efficient, and optimised geometry suitable for real-time gameplay, ensuring assets function effectively across a variety of in-engine scenarios.
- Author realistic PBR textures using Substance Painter (or similar), maintaining material consistency and high visual standards across all assets.
- Collaborate closely with designers, technical artists, and programmers to ensure smooth integration, proper asset behaviour, and alignment with gameplay needs.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of asset pipelines, documentation, and best practices that support scalable, repeatable content creation.
- Provide thoughtful feedback to peers, helping to maintain a high bar for quality and technical execution across the art team.
- Integrate assets into Unreal Engine, including setting up materials, LODs, collisions, and verifying in-engine performance. Depending on experience, this may be a required responsibility.
- Support the broader art team through reliable communication, consistent delivery, and a willingness to learn and adapt within a fast-moving production environment.
What We’re Looking For
- 2–3 years of professional experience as a 3D or Prop Artist, with at least 1 year focused specifically on vehicle modelling or hard-surface mechanical assets.
- Strong proficiency in hard-surface modelling with clean, optimised topology and an understanding of real-time performance constraints.
- Skilled in PBR texturing workflows using Substance Painter or comparable tools.
- Comfort working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including technical artists, designers, and engineering partners.
- A proactive, detail-oriented artist with a strong sense of ownership, problem-solving ability, and a desire to continually improve.
- Comfortable working in a remote-first, fast-paced production environment and adapting to evolving project needs.
Bonus points if you have
- Experience integrating assets into Unreal Engine, including material setup, collision, and LODs.
- Experience using Blender for modelling or texturing.
Please Note:
For Irish residents or citizens, this role is offered as a full-time employee position.
For applicants based outside of Ireland, the role will be offered on a contractor basis. We are a remote-first company and are committed to hiring the best candidate for the role, regardless of where you are located. If you’re outside our company’s home base, that’s okay with us. Salary is determined by the location of the applicant, market rates, and relevant experience.
