About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with Voice AI experience to help design, build, and scale the backend systems powering real-time, voice-driven applications. You’ll work at the intersection of distributed systems, AI/ML infrastructure, and speech technologies—owning critical services that enable low-latency, reliable, and intelligent voice experiences.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex backend problems and has hands-on experience supporting voice, speech, or conversational AI systems in production.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services for voice-enabled and conversational AI products

  • Integrate and optimize speech-to-text (STT), text-to-speech (TTS), and NLP/LLM pipelines
    Collaborate closely with ML, Voice UX, and Product teams to bring AI-driven voice features to life

  • Own backend APIs, data flows, and service orchestration for voice interactions

  • Improve system performance, reliability, observability, and cost efficiency

  • Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term platform strategy

What We’re Looking For

  • 6+ years of professional backend engineering experience

  • Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages (e.g. Python, Go, Java, Scala, or Node.js)

  • Experience building distributed systems, APIs, and event-driven architectures

  • Solid understanding of databases (SQL and NoSQL), caching, and message queues/streams

  • Strong system design skills with a focus on scalability and reliability
