Job Description
We are looking for someone with strong experience building and leading a DevSecOps organization to bring their skills to our Cloud Delivery Engineering team. Candidates need a strong technical background in delivering SaaS, IaaS, microservices, and server-based applications and databases. They should also have experience in collaborating with business stakeholders and product teams to set goals and milestones. Additionally, they should be skilled in building teams and leaders focused on outcomes and delivery across a broad portfolio of products and business needs. The Cloud Delivery Engineering team delivers a compute, storage, network, and security platform leveraged by our products enabling our customers to meet their business needs. We have teams delivering globally through traditional release processes and CI/CD pipelines with hundreds of changes a day across IaaS, PaaS, and containerize. As an industry leader we are always looking to leverage new technologies to transform how we deliver our solutions to customers to optimize costs and drive more customer value. This means working to advance our culture to enable managers, leaders, and engineers to understand and solve business problems with technology changes. These teams will work closely with their global counterparts to ensure services are delivered to customer 24/7 against all SLA
What Cloud Delivery Engineering delivers
Platform services – Delivers and manages compute, storage, database, and network leveraged by teams to deliver products. We are driving to deliver this platform through internal services, APIs, and automation to increase product delivery and reduce time to address security challenges and leverage new technologies. Manages these environments in partnership with teams including security concerns, uptime, SLA/SLOs, etc.
Product SRE teams – Works closely with product engineering and product management teams to drive customer vale, customer experience, and manage costs. Partners with platform service teams to deliver services to customers quickly, efficiently, and with quality.
Security services and compliance – Manages the security of our environments and products working with our cyber security teams to identify issues and resolve. Leverages, creates, and maintains tools and processes to proactively address security concerns and maintain compliance to address business needs.
Key Roles/Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Cultivate a diverse, high-performing team that develops, recognizes, and retains the best people. Challenge team members to advance their technical and engineering skills to meet the demands of rapidly evolving technologies and transition from physical to cloud-based infrastructure.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with key stakeholders to establish technical direction and derive innovative solutions to engineer reliable, scalable, supportable, and secure solutions for our customers.
Strategic and Tactical Planning: Lead teams in strategic and tactical planning and in predictably and efficiently delivering on our commitments within assigned responsibilities.
24/7 Operations: Direct daily 24/7 operations of the team, enforcing priorities, monitoring and analyzing operational effectiveness metrics, and ensuring problems are identified and solved quickly and efficiently.
Customer Support: Support teams that respond to and resolve customer-facing issues 24/7 to ensure service delivery.
Engineering, Operations, and Security: Navigate and contribute to the intersection of engineering, operations, and security, driving automation, process changes, and technology to increase efficiency and reliability.
Budget Management: Plan and manage the infrastructure and services budget to ensure expenditure is in line. Effectively plan and manage vendor engagements to expand our workforce capacity or technology as needed.
Data-Driven Culture: Foster a culture that leverages metrics to make informed decisions and guide change.
Qualifications:
Experience: 15+ years of relevant professional experience, with 10+ years in leadership roles. 7+ years of experience delivering SaaS solutions at scale, with proven expertise in end-to-end delivery from development through operations meeting customer expectations and operational SLAs.
Cross-Functional Management: Experience managing cross-functional teams delivering against operational SLAs and leveraging software engineering skills, including people managers, 40+ software engineers, and architects.
Project Management: Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with sound time management skills.
Technical Leadership: Demonstrated leadership in systems/software architecture, database design, web development, quality assurance, load testing, and performance testing.
Track Record: Proven track record of delivering high-quality releases on schedule and handling the demands of fast-growing teams with multiple simultaneous releases, developing SaaS applications from concept to product launches and ongoing improvement.
Non-Profit Experience: Experience working in or with non-profit organizations is valued.
Production Support: Available on a 24/7 basis when needed to support teams for production-impacting incidents or key customer events
