Now, we’re embarking on a journey to make Eventbrite the go-to destination for consumers looking to discover live events.

To help us deliver on this vision, we’re looking for a Software Engineer with strong front-end skills and solid full-stack foundations. You’ll build fast, reliable, and engaging web experiences that help millions of users discover events they love. If you’re passionate about building beautiful, performant, and accessible web applications, enjoy collaborating across disciplines, and thrive in a dynamic product environment this role is for you.

THE TEAM

The Eventbrite Discovery pillar is tackling the challenge of establishing an effective, consistent, and relevant discovery experience to our consumers. Our team is committed to building a discovery experience that will increasingly feel like it was made just for you. Our team is currently looking for a data obsessed, highly collaborative person that will help us build intelligent systems to best serve our customers. You will contribute to Eventbrite engineering’s culture of technical excellence through inclusivity, knowledge sharing, and mentorship. This is more than an opportunity to join an amazing team of 5-6 engineers with a variety of specialties, it is a chance to impact Eventbrite’s platform and organization at scale.

THE ROLE

As a Software Engineer (Front-End / Full-Stack), you’ll play a key role in developing user-facing applications that bring Eventbrite’s discovery ecosystem to life. You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver intuitive and performant experiences powered by real-time and ML-driven insights.

YOU WILL

  • Focus primarily on front-end development, crafting components, improving site performance, and evolving our design system,  while contributing across the stack as needed to build complete, end-to-end features.

  • Build and enhance modern web applications using React, TypeScript, and Next.js

  • Collaborate with design and product to deliver polished, accessible, and responsive user interfaces

  • Implement server-side rendering (SSR) and efficient data-fetching patterns for optimal performance and SEO

  • Contribute to full-stack features, including Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) APIs and service integrations in Node.js

  • Use analytics and experimentation tools to validate and improve user experiences

  • Ensure quality through thoughtful testing, code reviews, and continuous integration

  • Monitor performance and reliability using modern observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing)

  • Embrace AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) to accelerate high-quality delivery

  • Participate in architecture and design discussions, bringing a front-end perspective to technical decisions

  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive team culture of learning and collaboration

  • Use AI-assisted coding tools (such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar) to enhance development speed, accuracy, and maintainability

THE SKILLSET

  • 3–5 years of experience building modern web applications in production

  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript, including asynchronous programming and debugging

  • Deep understanding of React (hooks, context, component design, state management) and SSR frameworks like Next.js

  • Solid understanding of web accessibility (a11y) and internationalization/localization (i18n/l10n)

  • Experience with HTTP and APIs — building and consuming REST or GraphQL services

  • Working knowledge of Node.js for building lightweight API layers or backend-for-frontend services

  • Familiarity with Core Web Vitals and performance optimization best practices

  • Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright/Cypress) and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions)

  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services (CloudFront, S3, Lambda, ECS/Fargate) and modern deployment pipelines

  • Good understanding of authentication and authorization (sessions, JWTs, CSRF protection)

  • Comfortable working with feature flagging and experimentation tools (LaunchDarkly, Split, etc.)

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a remote-first, cross-functional team

BONUS POINTS FOR

  • Experience with multi-stage ranking or federated search systems

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and observability tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Datadog, Grafana, etc.)

  • Prior work on consumer discovery, content personalization, or search ranking systems at scale
