Sr Scala Developer ( REMOTE)

We are currently seeking a talented Senior Developer for one of our clients to work on a "Location Finder API" (API Catalog). This application allows users to find all service points, such as kiosks and package stations, directly from eCommerce shops. It is a critical service used across all our divisions.

Duration: at 6 months with extension opportunity/ long-term

Responsibilities

• Main development and support
• Operations (primarily development-focused)
• Infrastructure management with a focus on high-speed performance
• Geolocation and proximity search optimization
• Transition from Google Maps to our proprietary solution, including ongoing adjustments
• Building monitoring systems using Open Telemetry (Open Source) for tracing and performance analysis

• Scala development
• Data engineering/analysis experience
• ZIO Framework
• microservice architecture
• Scala and cloud design concepts, patterns and corresponding frameworks
• Cloud technologies monitoring metrics (currently deployed in Google Cloud)
• Kubernetes / Docker
• CI/CD
• Performance and efficiency optimization

• OpenStreetMap and Nominatim geocoding and routing

• Postgres and PostGIS
