Job Description

Role: Inventory Optimization Analyst
Location: Remote
Schedule: Eastern Time Zone
Salary: Open to negotiation based on experience

The Inventory Optimization Analyst will act as a pivotal strategic resource within our Commercial Operations business unit, focusing on the intersection of inventory, demand plans and pricing. This role is tasked with balancing or optimizing these three areas through exception reporting and scenario analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Scenario Analysis - Model inventory sell through scenarios (primarily focused on variables for demand, supply, & price). Then, analyze the financial measures related to those scenario models, making recommendations to VP Pricing and reporting on actuals.
  • Promotions Management – Manage the intake process for temporary price change requests and provide feedback to requestors/stakeholders.
  • Catalog Maintenance – Support the pricing management for 100,000+ SKUs based on explicit rules logic provided, alert and recommend updates as changes occur.

Required Technical Competencies:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; strong aptitude with numbers; retail math skills, understanding of scenario analysis (price elasticity modeling).
  • Makes decisions with limited information but also able to synthesize large quantities of data to drive business decisions
  • Strong communication and presentation skills: concisely presents complex information/recommendations in terms meaningful to internal and external stakeholders
  • System proficiency with strong emphasis on Excel, DOMO or similar BI tools

  • Experience: 1+ years experience within a high-volume e-commerce environment, preference for Business Intelligence or Operational roles that include analytical decision making.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Finance, or Supply Chain Management.
