In this role, you will define how data is built, scaled, and used across the game—owning the platform, standards, and team that power insight, experimentation, and decision-making at scale.
You will operate as both an organizational leader and technical authority: shaping the vision for Analytics Engineering, evolving the data platform, and ensuring data is a core competitive advantage for the business.
What You Will Do
Define Strategy, Vision & Operating Model
- Define the vision and operating model for Analytics Engineering as the organization scales
- Own the roadmap for Analytics Engineering and AI initiatives, driving insight at scale
- Promote a data product mindset, ensuring data assets are reliable, reusable, and easy to access
- Drive adoption of AI-enabled workflows in analytics, and define how AI systems interact with the data platform
Own Data Platform & Architecture
- Set direction for the data platform (pipelines, warehouse, semantic/metrics layer), optimizing for speed, reliability, and usability
- Own the metrics layer as a single source of truth across the organization
- Ensure scalable data pipelines and strong experimentation, reporting, and analytics capabilities
- Influence broader data architecture, including shared platforms like Playgami, and partner with central data teams
Own Investment & Resource Strategy
- Own budget and investment decisions for data infrastructure and tooling
- Continuously improve organizational structure, processes, and execution velocity
Lead & Scale the impact of Analytics Engineering as a Craft
- Maintain a high-performing Analytics Engineering team, including hiring, performance management, and career development
- Define role architecture, promotion criteria, and calibration standards
- Establish Analytics Engineering as a Centre of Excellence, fostering community, learning, and innovation
- Monitor and improve team health, capability, and performance
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience leading and scaling high-performing data or engineering organizations
- Deep understanding of modern data platforms (pipelines, warehouses, semantic layers)
- Strong technical judgment with the ability to influence architecture and standards at scale
- Track record of building or evolving data platforms for large-scale products
- Experience improving organizational effectiveness, processes, and team performance
- Ability to operate strategically and hands-on, connecting technical decisions to business impact
- Experience driving adoption of new paradigms (e.g., AI/ML, data products, modern data stack)
- Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management skills
