Job Description
Your mission
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Own and continuously improve financial models including budgeting, rolling forecasting and target setting.
- Management Reporting & Performance Management: Develop and monitor SaaS and financial metrics (e.g. ARR, churn, LTV, CAC, gross margin, burn rate, runway) to provide financial insights for data-driven decision making, ensuring alignment with our long-term goals. Lead action plans to maximize value of the right strategies and close gaps if any.
- Business Partnership: Partner with department heads (Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Tech and People & Culture) on commercial and headcount planning, cost optimization and ROI analysis. Identify risks and opportunities and provide actionable insights to the leadership.
- Financial Reporting: Oversee accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Present financial reports to the executive team, board of directors, and investors.
- Cash Flow Management: Plan, monitor and analyze cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure the company’s financial health and performance in line with long-term plan.
- Financial Process Management: Establish processes and tools appropriate for scaling high growth business
- Investor Relations: Prepare investor reporting and present complex financial data in digestible form for the key investors.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax laws, and internal policies. Develop and implement risk management strategies to safeguard company assets.
- Team Leadership: Lead a two-person Finance team, with a focus on building a high-performing, collaborative environment that promotes continuous improvement and professional growth. Foster a culture of teamwork and drive the team's development to achieve excellence.
What we are looking for?
- 3–5 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Corporate Finance, Strategic Finance, or a similar role, ideally in a startup, scale-up, or SaaS environment
- Strong understanding of SaaS business models and metrics (ARR, churn, CAC, LTV, etc.)
- Advanced financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills. Experience partnering with non-finance stakeholders and influencing decision-making at senior levels
- Solid knowledge of financial reporting, cash flow management, and budgeting processes
- Familiarity with investor reporting and board-level communication
- Experience building or improving financial processes in a scaling organization
- First leadership experience or strong motivation to lead and develop a small, high-impact team
- High level of ownership, hands-on mindset, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial topics into clear insights
- Strong attention to detail, integrity, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Fluent in English (German is a plus, depending on company needs)
