Job Description

At Included Health, we’re on a mission to raise the standard of healthcare for everyone—and design plays a critical role in making that happen. We’re looking for a Staff Product Designer to champion visual design excellence on our team, ensuring a simple, polished, compelling user experience across our products.
This is a high-impact, strategic role where you’ll define visual standards by managing our design system, bringing visual expertise to our member experience, and collaborating with marketing on branding and storytelling. You’ll have the autonomy to drive meaningful change, the opportunity to influence teams across the company, and the support of a collaborative, mission-driven team that values design excellence.
If you’re passionate about visual design excellence, collaboration, and making a real impact in healthcare, we’d love to hear from you.

Champion Visual Design Excellence:

    • Set the bar for visual design across our products and services—defining what great looks like and ensuring that our member experience is trustworthy, simple, clear and compelling.
    • Educate and inspire teams across disciplines on how strong visual design builds member trust and enhances the overall experience.
    • Lead critiques, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions to grow the team’s visual design craft.
    • Audit and refine existing experiences to bring them in line with visual design best practices.

Drive Experimentation & Iteration:

    • Lead product experiments and iterations, using data and insights to refine and improve design strategies.
    • You'll explore new ways to support our members and clinical team through digital interactions, leveraging storytelling, motion, generative AI, and interaction design. You're always curious and keep an eye on industry trends, bringing fresh ideas and best practices to the team.

Drive Innovation and Future Thinking:

    • Stay ahead of industry trends, bringing new ideas and methodologies to elevate our visual design excellence and standards.
    • Explore emerging technologies, such as AI-driven design tools, to enhance visual excellence and creativity.
    • Continuously refine and evolve our definition of what good looks like and how our systems support this at scale based on feedback, data, and business needs.

Qualifications:

    • 8+ years of experience as a visual product designer, with at least 3 years focused on design systems that have been successfully implemented and widely adopted.
    • Exceptional visual and interaction design skills, with a strong portfolio showcasing high-quality UI, visual design, system thinking, and scalable design solutions.
    • Strong collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work closely with engineers to ensure seamless implementation and high-quality execution.
    • Strategic mindset, with the ability to define and execute a long-term vision for a design system and visual design excellence that scales with the company.
    • Proactive and self-guided, able to navigate ambiguity, create clarity, and drive initiatives forward independently.
    • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, able to articulate design decisions, trade-offs, and system value to diverse audiences.
    • Bonus: Experience in healthcare, enterprise, or complex product ecosystems, and familiarity with front-end development (HTML, CSS, React, etc.) to bridge the gap between design and engineering.
