The Programmatic & Paid Social Media Manager is responsible for tactical execution excellence and accountable for end to end activation delivery across programmatic and paid social channels. This role strategically plans, activates, optimizes, and manages media buys aligned with the communication strategy, customer journey, and audience insights. The manager ensures effective activation that advances client business goals while maintaining platform integrity, data transparency, and performance accountability.

This individual partners closely with clients and internal teams to develop comprehensive activation plans, translate strategy into channel level execution, and present campaign analysis and actionable insights.

What You’ll Do  

Strategic Media Activation:

  • Plan, activate, optimize, and manage programmatic and paid social media buys across DSPs and major social platforms including but not limited to Meta, TikTok, X, Snapchat, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and others.
  • Translate communication strategy and media objectives into detailed activation plans across formats such as display, video, native, audio, CTV, and social placements.
  • Determine audience strategy, bidding approach, inventory selection, and budget allocation based on performance data and client priorities.
  • Leverage client and proprietary data to refine targeting, improve efficiency, and adjust investment allocations based on real time results.
  • Apply a disciplined testing framework to evaluate creative, audience segments, bidding strategies, placements, and emerging buying opportunities.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert across relevant DSPs, social platforms, and activation tools, resolving technical and platform related issues as needed.
  • Ensure brand safety standards, fraud mitigation practices, and data quality transparency across all campaigns.

Client Service:

  • Develop comprehensive activation plans aligned to client KPIs and full funnel objectives.
  • Anticipate client needs and proactively deliver recommendations grounded in performance analysis and market intelligence.
  • Present campaign results, insights, and optimization strategies in a clear and strategic manner, demonstrating how activation decisions drive business outcomes.
  • Support audits of prospective client programmatic and paid social campaigns, identifying structural improvements and growth opportunities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with Strategy and Planning to manage campaign delivery and provide performance based optimization recommendations.
  • Collaborate with analytics and investment teams to ensure pacing accuracy, budget stewardship, and performance reporting integrity.
  • Act as a trusted activation advisor, contributing channel expertise to integrated media discussions and cross channel optimization initiatives.

Thought-Leadership:

  • Contribute to the development and refinement of activation standards and best practices across programmatic and paid social.
  • Stay current on platform changes, privacy developments, emerging technologies, and evolving buying methodologies.
  • Pursue continued skill development and share knowledge with peers to elevate activation excellence across the team.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, business administration, or a related field is preferred
  • Previous experience (3+ years) in digital media, programmatic advertising, or media buying 
  • Familiarity with programmatic platforms, DSPs, and advertising tools
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to draw insights from data to optimize campaigns
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
