Job Description

AI Engineer – APIs & Automation

Location: Remote
Employment Type: Full-Time / Contract

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and innovative AI Engineer to design, build, and optimize AI-powered solutions that drive automation and operational efficiency across the organization. This role will focus on API integrations, workflow automation, and implementing AI tools to streamline business processes.

The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering skills with hands-on experience integrating AI models and building scalable automation systems.

Key Responsibilities

AI Development & Implementation

  • Design and implement AI-driven solutions to automate internal workflows
  • Integrate AI models (LLMs, NLP tools, etc.) into business processes
  • Develop custom AI applications to improve productivity and decision-making

API Integration

  • Build and maintain API integrations between internal systems and third-party platforms
  • Connect AI services (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google AI, etc.) with CRM, marketing, and operational tools
  • Ensure secure and scalable API architecture
  • Monitor API performance and optimize reliability

Automation & Process Optimization

  • Identify repetitive processes and design automation solutions
  • Implement workflow automation using tools such as Zapier, Make, n8n, or custom scripts
  • Improve data flow between systems to reduce manual work
  • Collaborate with operations and leadership to prioritize automation opportunities

Infrastructure & Security

  • Ensure secure handling of data across AI systems and integrations
  • Maintain documentation for APIs and automation processes
  • Follow best practices for version control, testing, and deployment

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering, AI engineering, or automation development
  • Strong experience working with APIs (REST, GraphQL)
  • Experience integrating AI/ML models into applications
  • Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or similar programming languages
  • Experience with automation platforms (Zapier, Make, n8n, etc.)
  • Understanding of cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Strong problem-solving and system design skills

Preferred

  • Experience building AI agents or chatbot systems
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering and LLM optimization
  • Experience with data pipelines and ETL processes
  • Knowledge of security best practices in API design
