About the Role
We have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Account Director to join one of our Medical Affairs teams at Nucleus Global. This senior position is ideal for a strategic thinker and proven leader with deep experience in scientific communications. You’ll oversee key client accounts, guide medical affairs strategy, and mentor a talented team delivering high-quality, compliant, and impactful projects across a range of therapy areas.
As an Account Director, you’ll play a central role in shaping strategy, fostering client relationships, and ensuring the successful delivery of all scientific and tactical deliverables. You’ll also be responsible for driving operational excellence, financial performance, and team development within your business unit.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will lead the strategic direction, execution, and growth of medical affairs accounts—ensuring exceptional client satisfaction and high scientific standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing strategic oversight and leadership on publication planning and delivery, ensuring alignment with client objectives and scientific integrity.
- Building and maintaining strong client partnerships, acting as a trusted advisor and senior point of contact.
- Overseeing the development and execution of comprehensive projects and live meetings
- Leading and mentoring a team of client services members, providing clear direction, professional development, and performance feedback.
- Ensuring financial accountability across accounts, including budget oversight, SOW development, forecasting, and resource management.
- Collaborating closely with scientific and editorial teams to ensure content quality, compliance and adherence to industry standards.
- Identifying opportunities for organic account growth and supporting new business initiatives and proposal development.
- Championing operational efficiency and best practices to drive consistency and excellence.
About You
You’re a seasoned medical communications professional with a strong foundation in medical affairs management and a proven ability to lead both people and programs.
You will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in life sciences (advanced degree preferred).
- 6+ years of experience in medical communications, with significant expertise in medical affairs strategy, planning, and execution.
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams and managing direct reports.
- Proven success in client relationship management, strategic consultation, and account growth.
- Strong project and financial management skills, including budget control, forecasting, and SOW creation.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
- Working knowledge of Veeva or other similar tools (a plus).
