Job Description

What We Do

We’re on a mission to empower animal healthcare professionals with opportunities to earn more and achieve greater flexibility in their careers and personal lives.

Powered by groundbreaking technology, Roo has built the industry-leading veterinary staffing platform, connecting Veterinarians, Technicians, and Assistants with animal hospitals for relief work and hiring opportunities. Roo empowers the largest network of over 20,000 veterinary professionals to help more than 9,000 animal hospitals provide quality care to more pets.
Together, we’ve provided more than  3 million hours of healthcare, helping Veterinarians earn more than $200 million.

About the Role

At Roo, the Senior Manager of Growth will lead a team of growth analysts focused on the demand side of the marketplace (Hospitals). They will own growth measurement and insights for our Hospital focused squads, partnering closely with Product and Go To Market (GTM) leads to define objectives, evaluate impact, and identify future opportunities.

The Senior Manager, Growth is a player coach. You will manage and develop a small team of growth analysts while remaining deeply hands-on in high impact work. You will be directly involved in the full lifecycle of growth initiatives, from identifying opportunities through data, to sizing and prioritization, to experimentation and measurement, ensuring learnings translate into meaningful product and business outcomes.

This role reports to the VP of Growth. While the role operates on a remote basis, occasional onsite time in our San Francisco co working space is expected for key meetings and team events.

Your Responsibilities

  • Own growth analytics and measurement for the Hospital side of the marketplace, including defining and evolving core growth objectives and success metrics.
  • Lead growth analytics and experimentation across key levers such as acquisition, activation, liquidity, retention, quality, and monetization.
  • Manage, hire, and mentor a team of growth analysts, setting clear priorities, supporting career development, and maintaining a high bar for analytical rigor and impact.
  • Act as a hands-on contributor on complex analyses and experiments where judgment, depth, and clarity matter most.
  • Translate analytical insights into clear execution direction for product and cross-functional teams.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting that enable teams and leadership to monitor progress, diagnose issues, and make informed decisions.
  • Partner with the Go To Market team to identify opportunities for and measure the impact of growth and operational levers.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in growth analytics, product analytics, data science, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of people management experience, combined with a strong track record of remaining hands-on in analysis while coaching and developing analysts toward increasing ownership and impact.
  • Strong understanding of marketplace dynamics and growth metrics, ideally from experience at a fast-growing marketplace or platform business.
  • Expert-level SQL skills, with the ability to independently answer complex, ambiguous business questions using data.
  • Comfort expressing business problems and tradeoffs through clear frameworks, metrics, and simple mathematical relationships.
  • Proven experience running ad hoc analyses and experiments that lead to actionable insights and measurable impact.
  • Strong judgment around prioritization, knowing when to go deep and when a directional answer is sufficient.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, able to tailor depth and detail to the audience.
  • Demonstrated leadership and emotional intelligence, with the ability to influence cross-functional partners through credibility and clarity rather than authority.
  • Bias toward ownership and outcomes. You take responsibility for results, not just analysis.
  • Passion for Roo’s mission to transform the animal health industry and empower animal health professionals.
