The Position

Mechanism Ventures is seeking a Paid Social Manager to own paid social strategy, execution, and profitability across our portfolio of startups. You will drive measurable growth through Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, and influencer programs, while developing scalable systems that accelerate the launch and growth of new ventures. The majority of this role is dedicated to driving profitable growth through paid social, rather than brand awareness or top-of-funnel initiatives.

In your first month, you’ll jump directly into a Paid Social mission within the portfolio to deliver positive ROI, then build scalable creative systems and programs to help launch companies from 0 to 1. You’ll work hands-on with campaigns and creatives while designing the frameworks that allow paid social to scale efficiently across multiple brands.

You’ll report directly to the VP of Growth, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in growth, creative, SEO, and lifecycle. This is a role for someone eager to blend strategy, execution, and innovation — especially in using AI to pioneer next-generation paid social systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own paid social growth and profitability across multiple portfolio companies while being a “go-to” for the portfolio on all things paid social.

  • Own the end-to-end creative process for paid social, including creative strategy, brief development, and production, while leading ongoing testing across portfolio companies.

  • Design and build a compounding, AI-powered creative system that dramatically accelerates our ability to produce and test high-performing content.

  • Fully manage campaign strategy, activation, optimization, and daily client communication

  • Develop testing and optimization frameworks to drive efficiency, ROAS, and sustainable growth.

  • Incorporate new AI tools and software to uplevel campaign performance and creative iteration.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with paid search, SEO, partnerships, retention, and product teams to maximize results, for example collaborating with Lifecycle to create cross-function strategy.

  • Collaborate directly with CEOs and senior stakeholders to translate business goals into high-performing paid social strategies that deliver results.

  • Continuously optimize post-click experiences to improve funnel efficiency, conversion rates, and downstream revenue.

  • Crack emerging platforms (TikTok, Pinterest, Snap, LinkedIn) and new acquisition channels.

  • Codify all of your learnings into a "Paid Social Playbook"—a reusable, scalable asset that will be the go-to-market standard for every new company we launch.

  • Report performance and insights to stakeholders, balancing short-term ROI with long-term scalability.

  • Work closely with engineering to implement best-in-class tracking.

  • Continuously refine paid social systems to improve performance, speed, and reliability.

Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience managing campaigns in Meta Ads and TikTok Ads.

  • Proven ability to drive measurable business outcomes and profitability through paid media.

  • Track record of building large scale influencer programs on paid platforms.

  • Experience using AI tools and automation in campaign management and creative workflows.

  • Deep understanding of paid social fundamentals — auction dynamics, auto-bidding, creative testing, and attribution.

  • Full-funnel knowledge with experience in MTA solutions, P&L management, and forecasting models.

  • Ability to build and manage scalable creative and testing systems across multiple brands

  • Strong grasp of key growth metrics including ROAS, mLTV, and CAC.
    Exposure to broader growth areas such as SEO, retention, and partnerships, with strong collaboration skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication; able to tailor insights for executives and team members.

  • Nice to have: familiarity or appetite for additional social platforms such as Pinterest, Snap, LinkedIn, or emerging channels.

Time Commitment

This role is full-time and will need to overlap with US ET for the majority of the workday. It is an exciting opportunity that demands a level of dedication beyond the standard 9 to 5.
