We are looking for a MLRO in Egypt to join our global team. This role will play a crucial role in banking relationships as well as with internal reports. 

What will I be doing?

    • Acting as the appointed MLRO of our entity in Egypt
    • Representing the Financial Institution on AML matters and communicating directly with the CBE  and EMLCU
    • Ensuring that AML and KYC requirements and procedures are properly followed
    • Managing transaction monitoring for fraud and AML issues where relevant
    • Stay abreast of the regulatory landscape governing the payments industry in Egypt.
    • Interpret and communicate regulatory changes, especially those related to AML/CFT requirements, to relevant stakeholders within the organization
    • Conduct periodic reviews and assessments to ensure the effectiveness of transaction monitoring processes and KYC processes.
    • Supporting various regulatory and statutory audits
    • Implementing and monitoring proactive risk management policies and procedures
    • Monitoring and reporting AML risks and compliance gaps in relation to internal and external regulations
    • Supporting  the Group Compliance team in areas of need
    • Provide training to staff on compliance policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, with a specific focus on AML/CFT in the Egyptian market.
    • Foster a culture of compliance awareness within the organization.

What skills do I need?

    • Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields with additional certifications (e.g., CAMS, ACAMS, ICA) are a must.
    • 3+ years of professional experience as an MLRO/designated official in the payments/financial services industry is a must
    • Experience in building or implementing compliance-related automations (e.g., workflows, alerts, reporting systems)
    • Familiarity with Egyptian Financial Institution regulations, knowledge and experience of other regulatory frameworks for financial institutions (e.g. Middle East and North Africa) is a bonus
    • The position is predominantly based in Egypt
    • Fluent English speaker; other relevant languages are a bonus
