Job summary

Reporting to the Director – Senior Accounting & Tax, the Senior Financial Accountant will manage general ledger accounting for multiple EMEA entities to a level suitable for reporting to the US headquarters on a monthly close cycle. The Financial Accountant will also work with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure the timely preparation and filing of statutory accounts and tax returns.

Essential Responsibilities

• Responsible for the General Ledger accounting for assigned EMEA entities;
• Responsible for identifying, posting, and reviewing transactions as part of the month-end close;
• Responsible for the accounting and reporting requirements under U.S. and local GAAP;
• Monitor and support closure of sub-ledgers for assigned entities, i.e., Fixed Assets, Accounts Receivable
• Perform & review monthly account reconciliations using the Cadency software application
• Responsible for the preparation of robust bridge reconciliations between US GAAP and local GAAP.
• Managing the associated local tax reporting;
• Analytical review of data and answering queries arising from your local reporting director and/or the corporate US office arising out of monthly reviews
• The development of strong relationships with key stakeholders globally.
• Liaise with external auditors as part of the group or statutory audit process and provide timely and accurate information and data as required for assigned entities:
• Assisting with the implementation of Budgetary Controls & Reporting
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies and internal controls
• Periodic VAT and other direct assistance with tax returns compliance for assigned entities
• Continuous promotion of ideas and process improvements as part of a continuous improvement culture;
• Involved in ad hoc projects – process improvements, entity incorporations, enhanced reporting etc

Minimum Requirements

• ACCA, ACA, CPA or CIMA qualified
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and European statutory/tax reporting requirements. Experience with Oracle or equivalent ERP systems; proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
• 3+ years Industry PQE
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work within a team and cross functionally but also a self-starter
• Flexibility with regard to working hours during quarter-end and year-end

 Beneficial or would be advantageous to have 

• Previous experience in managing the financial aspects of EMEA and/or APAC entities
• Demonstrating prior experience in a similar multinational company
• Experience with extracting data using Reporting tools, Qlikview / Power-BI applications
