Job summary
Reporting to the Director – Senior Accounting & Tax, the Senior Financial Accountant will manage general ledger accounting for multiple EMEA entities to a level suitable for reporting to the US headquarters on a monthly close cycle. The Financial Accountant will also work with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure the timely preparation and filing of statutory accounts and tax returns.
Essential Responsibilities
- Responsible for the General Ledger accounting for assigned EMEA entities;
- Responsible for identifying, posting, and reviewing transactions as part of the month-end close;
- Responsible for the accounting and reporting requirements under U.S. and local GAAP;
- Monitor and support closure of sub-ledgers for assigned entities, i.e., Fixed Assets, Accounts Receivable
- Perform & review monthly account reconciliations using the Cadency software application
- Responsible for the preparation of robust bridge reconciliations between US GAAP and local GAAP.
- Managing the associated local tax reporting;
- Analytical review of data and answering queries arising from your local reporting director and/or the corporate US office arising out of monthly reviews
- The development of strong relationships with key stakeholders globally.
- Liaise with external auditors as part of the group or statutory audit process and provide timely and accurate information and data as required for assigned entities:
- Assisting with the implementation of Budgetary Controls & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies and internal controls
- Periodic VAT and other direct assistance with tax returns compliance for assigned entities
- Continuous promotion of ideas and process improvements as part of a continuous improvement culture;
- Involved in ad hoc projects – process improvements, entity incorporations, enhanced reporting etc
Minimum Requirements
ACCA, ACA, CPA or CIMA qualified- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and European statutory/tax reporting requirements. Experience with Oracle or equivalent ERP systems; proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
- 3+ years Industry PQE
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work within a team and cross functionally but also a self-starter
- Flexibility with regard to working hours during quarter-end and year-end
Beneficial or would be advantageous to have
- Previous experience in managing the financial aspects of EMEA and/or APAC entities
- Demonstrating prior experience in a similar multinational company
- Experience with extracting data using Reporting tools, Qlikview / Power-BI applications
