Application Specialist
The Application Specialist scales pre-sales and customer success efforts by advising and equipping solution consultants, partners, and marketing teams with the technical and functional expertise needed to drive adoption of Anaplan RPM Applications. This role ensures that applications are effectively positioned and integrated into customer solutions by providing strategic guidance on Proof of Concepts (PoCs), messaging, and industry best practices.
As a trusted subject matter expert (SME) in Revenue Performance Management (RPM), the Application Specialist supports field teams by offering insights on PoC execution, refining industry-specific content, and collaborating with Product and Solution Consulting teams to ensure clear, compelling positioning.
This role is dedicated to scaling knowledge and expertise, enabling the broader Solution Consulting team, evangelizing Anaplan RPM Applications, and ensuring that GTM teams can confidently deliver tailored, high-impact solutions that align with customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a consultative advisor to pre-sales teams, both internal and partners, providing strategic and technical guidance for positioning Anaplan RPM Applications in complex, high-value opportunities.
- Provide design and execution guidance for Proof-of-Concept (PoC) builds, ensuring they address customer-specific challenges and showcase the value of Anaplan RPM Applications.
- Develop and refine industry-specific demo models, aligning content with customer requirements and market needs. Ensure that all RPM application demos include data and messaging highlighting solutions to customers’ typical planning concerns, i.e., problem-action-results.
- Create demo tracks and messaging to highlight the key connection points between the relevant RPM and other COE Applications for key target industries.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Solution Consulting, and Sales teams to craft tailored messaging, ensuring Anaplan RPM Applications are presented as part of an overall solution.
- Deliver actionable feedback to the Product Managers to enhance the applications based on customer and field feedback as well as industry expertise.
- Act as a scaler of the Solution Consulting team and Partners by enabling and evangelizing Anaplan RPM Applications through knowledge-sharing initiatives, training, and best practice frameworks.
- Maintain deep technical and functional expertise in Anaplan RPM Applications to provide credible, impactful advisory support to customers, field, and development teams.
- Support Solutions Marketing in creating and leading demos for Analysts aligned with emerging and market trends to ensure we retain our market-leading status.
Qualifications
- Extensive expertise in Revenue Performance Management (RPM), including processes such as incentive compensation, territory and quota planning, and sales forecasting.
- Proven experience in consultative pre-sales roles, including leading PoCs and creating tailored content for enterprise customers.
- Deep technical and functional understanding of Anaplan’s platform and RPM Applications.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to enable and scale Solution Consulting teams through thought leadership, training, and content creation.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to translate customer needs into impactful technical solutions and messaging.

Base Salary Range:
$152,000 - $219,000 USD
