Job Description
About Very
(Remote – Mexico)
Very is a fully distributed technology firm led by expert problem-solvers who create efficient, scalable solutions that move commercial, industrial, and consumer products from pilot to production in record time.
We believe that real innovation happens in the grind — working shoulder to shoulder with clients who are building the future. Our team thrives on that energy. When we’re not helping clients deliver business-critical outcomes, we’re refining our craft and celebrating what it means to do hard things well.
We’ve built a collaborative, tight-knit culture that thrives in both remote and in-person settings. We’ve won numerous workplace awards over the years, including Great Place to Work certification and recognition from Parity.org as a Best Company for Women to Advance.
Our clients include well-known brands like Vizio, Peloton, Clear, iHeart Radio, and Fellowes — all determined to leverage connected devices and AI to drive meaningful impact. Our job is simple: help them win.
About This Role
We’re hiring a full-time, skilled Mid Product Designer for one of our partners.
We seek a self-motivated Product Designer passionate about solving a wide variety of design problems using a human-centered approach. You will focus on delivering immediate product value through a strong relationship between design and technology, utilizing design systems, iterative design, and a strategic eye for all things UX.
What You’ll Be Working On
- Convert complex business requirements and user needs into intuitive wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity prototypes.
- Plan and conduct user research, market analysis, and usability testing to validate design decisions and advocate for the user.
- Drive design system consistency by contributing reusable components and maintaining documentation for seamless developer hand-offs.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers and product managers to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with product strategy.
- Iterate on designs based on data, feedback, and emerging UX trends to continuously improve the user experience.
Outcomes
- Deliver High-Quality Design: Consistently produce interface designs that meet client objectives and exceed user expectations.
- Strengthen Design System & Consistency: Expand and refine the product design language through reusable patterns and components.
Support Cross-Functional Delivery: Enable efficient development cycles through clear communication and precise design documentation. - Raise the Bar: Actively contribute to better internal design patterns and help elevate the team's overall design standard.
- Enhance User Experience: Use research and data to drive measurable improvements in product usability and user satisfaction KPIs.
Requirements
We’re looking for an ambitious creative eager to roll up their sleeves to get the job done. The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial, enterprising, collaborative, and personable and have these qualifications:
General Experience
- At least 3-5 years of relevant design experience
- BA/BS degree in visual design, graphic design, graphic arts or a similar field
- Experience taking initiative, working independently and actively to resolve issues, and taking ownership of projects and processes
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Ability to understand technical concepts and visually represent them in design
Technical Proficiency
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe
Other
- Must reside and be authorized to work in the location specified in the job's post.
Skills
In addition to experience and technical skills, these are the critical skills we look for in all technical roles, and how they should be demonstrated at the Lead level.
- Client Obsessed: Keeps the client’s success front and center. Measures technical choices by their business impact.
- Clear Communicator: Collaborates effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Quality-Driven: Holds themselves to high standards for code quality and reliability.
- Ownership Mindset: Takes responsibility for delivering solutions that work in real-world conditions.
- Problem Solver: Thrive in complexity and find solutions even when requirements are evolving.
- You prefer working in a highly structured environment where processes rarely change.
- You require constant supervision or detailed task breakdowns rather than owning complex problem domains independently.
Contract
Independent contractor.
You must have access to your own computer/device, design software and reliable internet.
This is a full-time contract engagement. The scope of work may require a full-time workload and is compensated at the salary specified below, paid on on a bi-weekly schedule.
Compensation
Base: USD $45,000 per year
Bonus: Up to a 5% based on performance
**As an Independent Contractor, compensation is paid without tax withholding, and you are solely responsible for all tax obligations, social security contributions, and health and pension benefits.
Why Work for Very
We do not promise an easy ride — we promise meaningful work.
We work hard because our clients’ success depends on it, and we take pride in delivering when others can’t. We collaborate closely, move fast, and stay grounded in results. We take joy in the process — in the problem-solving, the iteration, and the shared wins that come from doing the hard things well.
If you’re looking for a place where every project matters, where the standards are high, and where you’ll grow by pushing yourself and others — welcome to Very.
