Job Description
The Sandberg Goldberg Bernthal Family Foundation works to build a more equal and resilient world. We bring people together to support one another through three key initiatives: Lean In, Option B, and the Dave Goldberg Scholarship Program.
SGBFF is seeking a product manager to build AI-powered tools that support our community and partner with internal teams to improve the efficiency and quality of our work. This person will help shape the AI product roadmap, conduct user research, and lead the hands-on implementation of AI-powered features – creating a "Lean In in your pocket" experience that helps anyone access Lean In's trusted resources exactly when they need them.
This role is highly cross-functional – partnering closely with our web and marketing teams, external web vendor, and program leads across Lean In and Lean In Girls.
This is a hands-on role. A successful hire will roll up their sleeves to execute – writing specs, configuring tools, running tests, and iterating quickly. We're looking for a builder, not a delegator. This person should thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment with a small team where ownership and accountability are high.
Responsibilities
- Build and implement AI-powered features for our community – including content personalization, intelligent search, and conversational AI (e.g., Sierra).
- Help shape the AI product roadmap, prioritizing initiatives based on user impact and organizational capacity.
- Conduct user research with Lean In and Lean In Girls community members to identify needs and translate findings into product requirements.
- Can execute hands-on – writing specs, configuring tools, managing vendors, QAing releases, and iterating based on data.
- Partner with the marketing team on SEO and AI search strategy to ensure Lean In content surfaces in traditional search and AI-powered tools (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews).
- Partner with internal teams to identify and deploy AI tools that improve operational efficiency and work quality across the organization.
Requirements
- 3–6 years of experience in product management, with exposure to AI/ML products or features. Ideally, part of this experience is with consumer-facing products.
- Experience releasing technology-driven products or features – whether in personalization, search, conversational AI, or content recommendation.
- Hands-on executor. You've personally configured tools, written detailed specs, run QA, and iterated on products – not just managed others doing this work.
- Strong technical fluency – able to collaborate with and understand tradeoffs across our external web vendor, internal web and marketing teams, and program teams.
- Experience conducting user research and translating insights into product priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Compensation & Benefits
- The base salary for this role varies by location, with the final amount depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. At the Manager level: $126,900–$136,800 (National) / $141,000–$152,000 (Bay Area/New York Metro). At the Senior Manager level: $146,700–$153,000 (National) / $163,000–$170,000 (Bay Area/New York Metro).
- Full-time employees are also eligible for a performance-based bonus of up to 10% of their annual salary.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with 4% employer match, unlimited PTO, and more!
- The opportunity to help shape the people function of a mission-driven organization.
- A collaborative, supportive, and impact-oriented team culture.
- A fully remote workplace, with periodic in-person meetings and events.
Application Details
- Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis - early submission is encouraged.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
- If your application is a good match, our team will reach out to schedule an interview. If you're no longer under consideration, you'll receive an email update. We truly appreciate your interest, and due to the high application volume, we may not be able to personally communicate with everyone who applies.
