Job Description
-
Own US product for our enterprise customers — the strategy, roadmap, and delivery for the surfaces our largest US operators rely on, from compliance and pay rules to the workflows that keep multi-location, multi-thousand-headcount businesses running.
-
Be the senior US product voice — the person every PM at Deputy turns to when a decision has US-specific implications (compliance, customer behaviour, market expectations, operational realities).
You'll translate US market and enterprise signals into a roadmap engineering and design can execute, champion the customer in every room, and raise the craft bar across the PM team.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end strategy and roadmap for US enterprise product priorities.
- Lead product ownership of strategic US enterprise programs — the initiatives that set new patterns for how Deputy delivers for our largest customers.
- Embed across squads as the senior US product partner — close enough to give meaningful input, senior enough that it carries weight.
- Convert regulatory changes, customer feedback, competitive moves, and partner dynamics into clear product implications, routed to the right squads at the right time.
- Partner with Sales, CS, and Solutions as the definitive internal voice on what we can do today, should commit to, and belongs on the roadmap — especially for enterprise deals and renewals.
- Own product integrity for the US enterprise surface — when something doesn't behave the way an enterprise customer expects, you find the root cause and decide the fix.
- 90 days: Fully ramped. Working relationships with every squad's PM. Named internal contact for US enterprise and market questions.
- 6 months: Shipped meaningful improvements for US enterprise customers. Influenced product decisions across multiple squads. Strategic enterprise programs tracking on time and on budget.
- 12 months: A funded US enterprise product roadmap through the next fiscal year. Recognised across the org as the cross-functional decision-maker on US product questions and as someone who's lifted the PMs around you.
Skills & Experience
7+ years in B2B SaaS, with a track record of broad horizontal scope across a product portfolio, plus:
- Deep US market fluency for shift-based businesses — regulatory landscape, operator persona, payroll/scheduling/T&A realities for hourly workforces.
- Enterprise product experience at scale — multi-location, multi-thousand-headcount customers, complex configuration, and the operational complexity that comes with them.
- Genuine technical depth — can read API docs, sketch a data flow, reason about idempotency and reconciliation, and debug a customer-reported discrepancy without an engineer riding shotgun.
- Cross-PM credibility — the judgement and presence to influence decisions inside other squads.
- Enterprise-facing experience — running customer calls with execs, navigating procurement and security review, and protecting product quality through complex commitments.
- Excellent writing — reducing multi-system problems into something a sales rep, CSM, or prospect CFO can act on.
- Production AI/ML experience — ideally OCR ingestion, classification, and human-in-the-loop review.
- Leadership without authority — mentoring PMs and raising the craft standard around you.
Strongly preferred: WFM, HCM, payroll, or HR fintech background; experience selling into and supporting enterprise customers; comfort working async — our product/eng centre of gravity is in Sydney.
Nice to have: Restaurant, retail, healthcare, or staffing experience; prior role as embedded regional product voice in a globally distributed org.
