Role Summary

Rowan Digital Infrastructure is looking for a Project Manager – Onsite Power Delivery to lead the end-to-end planning, coordination, and delivery of on-site behind-the-meter (BTM) power infrastructure supporting large-scale data center developments across Rowan Digital Infrastructure’s growing portfolio.

This role oversees the delivery of the onsite microgrid power plants that support our data center campuses using combinations of gas fired turbines, reciprocal generators, BESS solutions, as well as the related electrical infrastructure from early design through commissioning and energization.

The Project Manager (PM) – Onsite Power Delivery role serves as the primary point of integration between our hyperscale customers, Rowan’s commercial and energy teams, as well as our engineering, equipment, construction contractors, commissioning partners and ultimately Rowan operations. The PM will ensure power infrastructure is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with long-term operational requirements. This role proactively manages technical risk, long-lead equipment strategy, permitting, and interconnection milestones to protect overall project delivery.

Travel: Ability to travel up to 50% for company gatherings and to project sites.

Location: Can be based at site location or remote.

Compensation: $135k-$165k + Bonus

Essential Responsibilities

1. Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead planning and execution of all power infrastructure scopes including:

  • Onsite Microgrid delivery

  • Substations (AIS/GIS)

  • Medium- and high-voltage distribution

  • Switchgear and protection systems

  • Develop and manage project schedules aligned with overall campus milestones.

  • Ensure coordination between power engineering, civil, structural, and MEP scopes impacting power delivery.

  • Drive early risk identification and mitigation planning.

2. Utility & Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate with AHJs and permitting authorities.

  • Partner with internal development, procurement, finance, and operations teams to align infrastructure delivery with customer capacity commitments.

3. Cost & Contract Management

  • Develop and manage power delivery infrastructure budgets.

  • Oversee bid packages, contractor selection, and contract negotiations.

  • Track and manage change orders specific to electrical and utility scopes.

  • Monitor long-lead equipment procurement (transformers, switchgear, breakers, generators).

  • Forecast cost risk tied to material pricing and supply chain constraints.

4. Technical Oversight

  • Review design documents for constructability, phasing strategy, and operational resilience.

  • Validate redundancy, resiliency, and scalability requirements.

  • Ensure protection studies, arc flash analysis, and commissioning plans are incorporated.

  • Coordinate factory witness testing and on-site commissioning activities.

5. Schedule & Risk Management

  • Develop detailed energization milestone plans.

  • Identify schedule risk tied to:

  • Power engineering and delivery

  • Equipment manufacturing

  • Mitigation planning for long-lead items and grid constraints.

  • Provide clear reporting on power readiness status to executive leadership.

6. Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to high-voltage safety protocols.

  • Oversee compliance with utility standards and electrical codes.

  • Support development of energization procedures and turnover documentation.

7. Reporting & Executive Communication

  • Provide concise, data-driven updates on:

  • Power capacity milestones

  • Cost exposure

  • Delivery risk

  • Long-lead equipment tracking

  • Elevate issues early with recommended solutions.

Education, Skills, and Experience

  • 5–10+ years of experience managing large-scale infrastructure or electrical construction projects including significant experience with the engineering, procurement and construction delivery of onsite, behind-the-meter microgrid power solutions, including the use of natural gas and renewables.

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PE (Professional Engineer) preferred but not required.

  • Additional training or certifications related to high-voltage systems or power systems considered a plus.

  • Experience delivering medium- and high-voltage electrical systems, substations, or utility interconnections.

  • Experience working on data centers, mission-critical facilities, energy infrastructure, or large industrial projects preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience managing contractors, consultants, and utility providers.

  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, procurement, and change orders.

  • Experience coordinating long-lead electrical equipment procurement (transformers, switchgear, generators).

  • Familiarity with commissioning and energization processes for electrical infrastructure.
