The role

We’re looking for an accomplished and well-rounded SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) to join our great team, which is making a huge impact by delivering new-age insurance solutions to modern society. You'll ensure that API components of the backend work according to customer needs. Our friendly team of highly experienced SDETs loves to learn and create. We encourage bringing highly efficient solutions that ensure high quality from end to end.

Your day-to-day

  1. Follow agile methodologies and participate in scrum meetings and software quality audits for all the phases of SDLC.
  2. Responsible for test creation, testing a large module or a large component and designing a feature, set of features, or whole feature area.
  3. Perform business requirement analysis by thoroughly understanding Project Design Document and Business Requirement Document.
  4. Develop scalable and robust test automation frameworks and scripts using Python, Pytest, BDD frameworks, and PyCharm; executes integration, regression, and performance testing using industry standard tools. 
  5. Research new or better alternate automated testing tools.
  6. Extensively use TestRail Test Management tool or equivalent to maintain the test suites, manage the automation test results and analyze the test failures.
  7. Works independently and collaborates across teams to drive quality initiatives and lead detailed software quality discussions.
  8. Demonstrates clarity of thought designing end to end test scenarios to work through limited information and vague problem definitions; mentor other quality engineers.
  9. Other duties as assigned

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience and;
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience working with API 
  • Experience in integrating testing artifacts with CI/CD pipeline. 
  • P&C Insurance domain knowledge

Bonus points

  • Knowledge of Linux, databases/SQL/Postgresql, shell scripting 
  • Knowledge of GoLang 
  • Strong problem solving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments
  • Desire to automate everything and reduce the time required to manually test products

Salary: $156,000 to $209,000*

*Please note that the final salary offered will be determined based on the selected candidate's skills, and experience, as well as the internal salary structure at Quanata. Our aim is to offer a competitive and equitable compensation package that reflects the candidate's expertise and contributions to our organization.

  • Location: We are a remote-first company for most positions so you may work from anywhere you like in the U.S, excluding U.S. territories. For most positions, occasional travel may be requested or encouraged but is not required. Some positions might require travel per the job description provided to the employee. Employees based in the San Francisco Bay Area or in Providence, Rhode Island may commute to one of our local offices as desired.  
  • Hours: We maintain core meeting hours from 9AM - 2PM Pacific time for collaborating with team members across all time zones.
