About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join us on our mission to make homeownership more accessible for everyone.
As a Senior QA Engineer at Clever, you'll oversee the planning, design, development, and execution of manual and automated test suites. You will work with our product & engineering teams to create well-organized test cases and be a key stakeholder in designing automated solutions to run tests on every build.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the quality of features and lead test efforts for a our content, mobile, and internal products functional and design specifications and prepare test plans
- Work with your Product and Operations peers to develop a collection of test cases for new and existing features prioritized by customer value
- Perform manual tests for new features while adhering to high quality standards on both mobile and browser
- Work with Product and Engineering leads to certify a release and investigate issues from tests in our QA Environment
- Advocate for high quality on behalf of Clever customers by working closely with software engineers, designers, and product managers.
Ideal Candidate:
- Has an understanding of QA processes and concepts such as test plan creation, test suite development/execution and defect debugging/tracking/management
- Creates concisely written test suites from specs, acceptance criteria, or test cases Strong manual testing skills at different layers of the application (web, mobile, API) across both browser and mobile
- Has experience developing automated tests using UI and/or API based test frameworks, development environments, and CI/CD is a plus
- Has an understanding of testing methodologies like functional, integration, system, and usability. Performance/Load testing experience with tools like JMeter or k6 is a plus
- Is excited about joining a mission-driven startup who wants to become the best way for renters to buy their first home
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of QA experience
- Fluent written and verbal English
- Experience with a fast paced startup
- Remote work experience with a global team
Technologies We Use:
- Jira and Qase for test/defect management
- Playwright and TestProject for UI test automation
- Github Actions, BitRise, AWS, and Heroku for infrastructure and CI/CD integration
- Postman, Gherkin for API-based testing
- Android Studio, XCode, iOS/Android simulator/emulator for native testing and debugging
Compensation & Schedule
- Contractor position at a fixed rate of $9–$15/hour
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m. PHT. Hours will vary based on business needs, averaging 40 hours per week.
