About the Role

Platform Science is seeking a skilled and proactive Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to contribute to the quality of our growing software products. You will independently design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test scripts. Integrating quality into our CI/CD pipeline and collaborating closely with development teams, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of reliable and performant software solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Independently design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust test automation frameworks and test scripts using programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Kotlin, JavaScript/Typescript, Go).
  • Integrate and enhance test automation within the CI/CD pipeline for continuous testing.
  • Develop and execute automated tests for various layers of the application, including unit, integration, API, and UI tests.
  • Collaborate effectively with software developers to understand software design and implementation, providing valuable feedback on testability.
  • Participate in code reviews to identify potential quality issues and ensure adherence to coding standards.
  • Build and maintain efficient test environments and manage test data effectively.
  • Analyze test results, identify root causes of failures, and work collaboratively with the development team to implement solutions.
  • Contribute to the improvement of our software development and testing processes and tools.
  • Advocate for quality best practices within the development lifecycle.
  • Monitor and analyze key quality metrics (e.g., test coverage, defect trends) to identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay updated on relevant testing methodologies, tools, and technologies, and share knowledge within the team.
  • Actively participate in agile ceremonies, providing valuable input on quality and testability.
  • May contribute to performance and security testing efforts under guidance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in software development and/or test automation.
  • Strong programming skills in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go).
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG, PyTest).
  • Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Github Actions , CircleCI).
  • Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and the SDLC.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality software.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with performance testing basics (e.g., using tools like K6, JMeter).  
  • Exposure to security testing concepts.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience working in an agile development environment.
  • Experience with AI Tools in Software Development (Gemini, Windsurf, Claude, etc.)
