Job Description
• Administer Windows and/or Linux server environments, virtualisation platforms, storage and associated infrastructure services.
• Monitor availability, capacity and performance; investigate alerts and restore service within agreed priority and escalation procedures. • Plan and execute approved patching, configuration changes, hardening and lifecycle maintenance.
• Maintain server inventories, configuration records, operating procedures, diagrams and technical runbooks.
• Support incident, problem and change management, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Coordinate infrastructure dependencies with network, cloud, backup, cybersecurity, application and database teams.
• Support discovery, baseline assessment and transition activities for on-premises and any subsequently approved hosted environment.
• Participate in agreed on-call coverage for critical infrastructure incidents.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant infrastructure and server administration experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server and/or enterprise Linux, Active Directory and virtualisation technologies.
• Practical knowledge of monitoring, patch management, storage, capacity planning and security hardening.
• VCP, MCSE/Microsoft role-based certification, RHCSA or Server+ preferred. • Ability to produce clear technical documentation and work within controlled change processes.
• Experience operating hybrid on-premises and cloud environments.
