This role focuses on improving scalability, modularity, and long-term sustainability of systems and pipelines used studio-wide.Daily Responsibilities:Designing and evolving pipelines that enable efficient sharing of technology, systems, and tools across multiple projects.Supporting and guiding teams through code and system merging processes, minimizing conflicts and ensuring consistency.Driving and supporting refactoring efforts to improve modularity, maintainability, and reusability of existing systems.Collaborating with engineers and technical leaders to identify opportunities for standardization and consolidation.Reviewing architectures and implementations with a focus on scalability, modularity, and long-term sustainability.Acting as a mentor and consultant for teams on best practices related to code sharability and cross-project development.Driving adoption of shared solutions and reducing duplication of effort across the studio.Identifying fragmentation risks and proactively proposing improvements to the overall tech ecosystem.Contributing directly to shared systems, especially in areas that unblock multiple teams, and re-architecting solutions to be reusable across different contexts.QualificationsAt least 6 years experience in a software architecture role, with a proven track record of designing scalable, modular systems in a multi-project environment.Demonstrated experience operating in an architecture or technical leadership capacity guiding technical direction across teams or multiple projects, aligning solutions toward shared goals. Proven experience with refactoring large or legacy codebases in a production environment.Experience working on shared codebases or across multiple projects/teams.Deep understanding of version control systems (e.g., Perforce, Git) and branching/merging strategies.Very good knowledge of C++ and/or other relevant languages used in game development.Familiarity with Unreal Engine (preferred) or similar game development environments.Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate on technical decisions  across teams, with an understanding of the human factors that impact code sharing and collaboration.Experience mentoring engineers and promoting engineering best practices.Ability to balance short-term delivery needs with long-term technical sustainability.Additional InformationThe application window for this position will close by 09/01/2026.This job can be hybrid/in-office or fully remote.Remote roles in the US are only available to candidates that reside in the following states: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin.Health & Well-BeingCompany-paid medical healthcare (dental, vision, and mental).Free mental health support, including access to counseling, psychiatric care, and a variety of well-being webinars.Paid leave — 26 days of vacation, 10 sick days, & 12 calendar holidays per year.401K with employer matching.Lifestyle Spending Account (LSA) – $100 per month to use towards fitness, wellness, internet, home office equipment, learning, streaming services, and more.Menstrual leave — employees who menstruate can take one extra day off when experiencing period pain.RED Parents Network — support for working parents, including childcare benefits, and family-friendly events.Perks & Professional GrowthFlexible working hours.Trainings, lectures, and courses — internal workshops, knowledge-sharing initiatives, online tutorials, and e-learning classes are all available.A welcome pack filled with goodies — to help you feel right at home once you join the team.Life in the OfficeDog-friendly office — bring your pooch with you and look after them while working!
