About the Role
As the Manager, Engineering, you will lead the high-performing team responsible for Ivy & Ocelot, Gravyty’s flagship AI-powered engagement platform. You will balance technical leadership with people management, ensuring your team delivers a seamless, 24/7, and multilingual support experience for higher education institutions. Your goal is to lead the Engineering team responsible for executing a unified AI strategy that drives student recruitment, retention, and career readiness.
Core Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a cross-functional team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation in AI-powered automation and student success initiatives. Provide technical guidance, sprint planning support, and career development for engineers while ensuring delivery against the product roadmap.
- Product Delivery: Oversee the end-to-end development of the Ivy & Ocelot platform, ensuring the delivery of a comprehensive, data-driven engagement tool.
- Omnichannel Integration: Lead the engineering efforts to maintain a unified chat inbox that manages interactions across SMS, WhatsApp, Email and Phone.
- Ecosystem Connectivity: Ensure robust, secure integrations with major campus systems, including Student Information Systems (SIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), and CRMs.
- Operational Excellence: Drive the team toward maximizing institutional ROI by automating routine inquiries and reducing administrative burdens for staff.
- Security Governance: Maintain strict adherence to compliance standards, including SOC2 Type 2, FERPA, GDPR, and HIPAA.
Required Qualifications
- Management Experience: Proven track record of leading engineering teams, ideally within the EdTech or SaaS sectors.
- Technical Breadth: Strong understanding of AI/ML integration, API-based system architecture, and cloud-scale deployments.
- Student-Centric Vision: Passion for using technology to identify at-risk students and improve educational outcomes.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to leverage predictive analytics and real-time reporting to guide institutional decision-making.
- Collaborative Spirit: Experience working with product and sales teams to deliver customizable and scalable solutions for institutions of all sizes.
