We are seeking a Functional Safety Manager to guide safety efforts for developing the next generation of safe, AI-powered autonomous driving systems. In this role, you will focus on solving hard cross-disciplinary problems across AI, computer vision, software architecture, planning and control, software / hardware interactions, and be part of a team that covers the entire autonomous driving system and coordinates development teams across NVIDIA.What you will be doing:Leading execution of safety engineering processes to meet ISO 26262, ISO 21448 and ISO 8800 standards, with timely safety case completionPromoting a positive safety culture and deployment of organizational processes by providing training, mentoring and tailoringActing as the primary point of contact for all safety related concerns during development and actively working to resolve identified issuesCollaborating with OEM and Tier1 partners to ensure that all aspects of the joint safety engineering development are carried out on time and according to planWhat we need to see:Bachelor’s degree (BS) in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferredAt least 8 years of proven experience in automotive development and integration for safety related systemsPossess a deep understanding of functional safety and development processes needed to follow the ISO 26262 functional safety standardA working knowledge of quality systems and tools, such as Automotive SPICE and IATF 16949Application of system safety methodologies & practices, including FMEA, FTA, FMEDA, CPAExcellent written and verbal communication skillsWe look for strong engineers who thrive working in teams, and working across multiple domainsWays to stand out from the crowd:Experience leading safety management efforts for production of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) or autonomous vehicle systemsExperience in the application of ISO 21488 (SOTIF) in combination with functional safetySolid understanding of V&V of complex safety-critical systemSoftware development and/or machine learning experience.Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
