We are building a flexible, scalable subscription platform from the ground up, rebuilding core infrastructure and launching new features that transform how millions of people engage with Roblox. Roblox supports a diverse and growing set of subscription products, including user-facing memberships, creator-led memberships, in multiple currencies. This role will help design and build the platform capabilities needed to support that breadth.
You will design and build scalable distributed systems that support a safe and secure virtual economy, enabling new monetization products for Roblox and its creator community. This is a high-impact role where you will collaborate cross-functionally to deliver reliable, high-throughput services that directly impact millions of users. This role reports to an Engineering Manager on the Subscriptions team.
You Will
Drive the future of subscriptions on the largest social platform for play, delivering innovative systems that empower developers to earn sustainably while enhancing the experience for over 100+ million daily active users
Be a part of the team building the next generation of the Roblox Digital Economy
Develop backend services that scale to billions of products and transactions
Collaborate with our product, design, data science, and machine learning teams
Help recruit future talent for the team and mentor junior engineers
You Have
Genuine passion about building Roblox's Economy
Focused on writing clear, readable, testable, modular, and monitored code
Shipped large-scale, consumer-facing mobile and web applications
Knowledge with REST, GRPC, API design patterns, and scalable containerized systems and microservices
A data-driven focus to provide quality metrics and monitoring
A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent professional experience) in Computer Science or related engineering field with at least 4 years of hands-on experience

The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page.Annual Salary Range$243,290—$295,250 USDRoles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
