Job Summary
The Senior Staff Software Engineer has expertise in the implementation and design of software platforms, including infrastructure, methodology, process, and tool stack. In this role, you’ll work to create the new unified platform using Python 3, React, Google Ad Manager, Elasticsearch, and AWS cloud. You thrive in environments where you are focused on writing high performance code that supports enterprise-grade architecture. What You’ll Do
- Architect, design, develop, and maintain complex software systems and APIs hosted in AWS cloud and spanning multiple technology domains.
- Identify cross-cutting concerns within and across service boundaries and implement reusable solutions.
- Consistently apply software design principles to implement business functionality.
- Establish technical design and develop solutions, applications and APIs following application development standards and quality processes (70% of the time).
- Ensure stability, performance and scalability of the PatientPoint platform and APIs.
- Lead and manage team activities, planning, retrospective and standup meetings in the SCRUM environment (20% of the time).
- Facilitate and lead story breakups and grooming. Drive feature level architecture/design sessions.
- Increase the level of teams’ technical ability and drive measurable improvement of unit test coverage and overall quality of code.
- Improve accuracy of estimates, development schedules, and lower project risk.
- Perform detailed PR reviews on deliverables. Provide technical guidance to the team members.
- Mentor junior individual contributors provide oversight of others’ work.
What We Need
- 10+ years of experience in a back-end software engineering role developing enterprise applications.
- 10+ years of experience developing high availability, high performance, and scalable microservices.
- 8+ years of experience creating cloud-based architecture and infrastructure-as-code.
- 8+ years of experience in relational databases and SQL development.
- Expert-level knowledge of Python 3 is required.
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in using AI based development tools (Claude, Cursor etc.)
- Proficiency in front end development (JavaScript, TypeScript, React and/or Angular)
- Proficiency in observability, monitoring and alerting (New Relic, Sentry)
- Proficiency in Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Proficiency in Elasticsearch and cloud-based search engines.
- Experience with containerization/orchestration technologies such as Docker, Elastic Container Service (ECS), Kubernetes, etc.
- Experience with Cloud-based security principles and protocols like OAuth2, JWT, HMAC, data encryption, hashing data, secret management, etc.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including Product, DevOps and Security etc.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers.
- Knowledge and understanding of digital advertising and ad servers (Google Ad Manager, Kevel, Sizemek, Dv360).
- Knowledge of Healthcare industry standards and regulations (HIPAA, PHI).
- Experience building software and iterating based on customer needs.

Base Salary Band: $136,880 - $210,800
