Job Description
Our client is seeking a strategic ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management (HAM) Architect to design, implement, and govern end-to-end HAM capabilities in ServiceNow. You’ll own architecture for the hardware asset lifecycle, optimize CMDB and Discovery for hardware assets, and lead integrations and data governance.
Define the architectural strategy, roadmap, and long-term vision for ServiceNow HAM aligned to enterprise goals.
Design scalable and secure HAM solutions covering full lifecycle:
Planning and procurement
Receiving and inventory/stockroom
Deployment/assignment
Maintenance/refresh
Disposal
Translate complex requirements (Finance, Procurement, Operations, IT) into detailed ServiceNow HAM designs and technical specifications.
Lead architecture and configuration of:
HAM module
CMDB data model for hardware assets (relationships, normalization, reconciliation)
Discovery strategies tailored to hardware types
Build automated workflows using Service Catalog, Flow Designer, custom modules (requests, approvals, stockroom, assignment, refresh/disposal).
Architect and oversee integrations between ServiceNow HAM and enterprise systems, discovery tools, and inventory systems.
Establish/enforce data governance and data quality standards for hardware assets in ServiceNow.
Architect financial tracking for hardware assets (cost, depreciation, leases, contracts) to support TCO reporting and optimization.
Provide leadership: standards, best practices, design reviews, mentorship to developers/admins/partners.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, drive adoption and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
Active Secret clearance
15+ years of relevant experience (bachelor’s degree may substitute for 5 years)
10+ years progressive IT experience, including 5+ years in a ServiceNow Architect role
Demonstrable expertise with ServiceNow HAM
Extensive hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB and Discovery for hardware assets
Experience designing/implementing complex integrations between ServiceNow HAM and other systems
Strong knowledge of the full hardware asset lifecycle (procurement through disposal)
Proficiency with ServiceNow platform capabilities:
Flow Designer
Service Portal
Custom app development
JavaScript scripting
Strong understanding of ITIL, especially asset management
Strong communication and stakeholder leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
CIS-HAM (Implementation Specialist – Hardware Asset Management)
CSA and other relevant CIS (e.g., CMDB, ITSM)
Experience with SAM in relation to hardware dependencies/licensing compliance
Knowledge of ISO 55000 (asset management standards)
Mobile asset management experience in ServiceNow
Familiarity with depreciation/amortization/lease accounting concepts
Government contracting experience
