Job Description

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a Game Engineer – Lead Tech (Games) to define and develop the interactive gameplay layer of the platform, focusing on building modular, repeatable game systems rather than one-off experiences. This role will lead the creation of core game modules that power multiple game experiences at launch, designed to be configurable and extensible over time. You’ll join a team that designs and delivers digital experiences with measurable impact, combining strategy, engineering, and human-centred design with deep technical expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Build interactive gameplay systems for mobile-first experiences (web and/or native)
  • Develop modular game frameworks that support multiple game types
  • Use AI-assisted and agentic workflows to rapidly prototype, iterate, and tune gameplay systems
  • Implement core mechanics (scoring, timing, streaks, rewards)
  • Integrate with backend APIs (player data, leaderboards, progression)
  • Support data-driven tuning (e.g. values controlled via JSON/config)
  • Optimize performance across devices and environments
  • Provide technical leadership on game systems and architecture

Qualifications

  • +5 years of experience building interactive systems using web or mobile technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript or similar)
  • Experience working in AI-forward, agentic development workflows (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor) and leveraging them to accelerate development
  • Experience with modular, reusable systems (not one-off builds)
  • Comfortable working with API-driven and data-configurable systems
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher (able to communicate effectively in written and spoken form in professional settings)

What's in It for You

  • Fully remote — work from anywhere
  • Benefits — PTO and other perks depending on the clien
  • Work with US-based companies building exciting, impactful products
  • Join collaborative, high-performance teams that value your input and expertise

If you’re a Game Engineer who thrives on solving complex challenges, delivering elegant solutions, and working with talented teams around the world, we’d love to hear from you.
