Job Description
The Challenge AheadAs a Software Engineer in the EA Digital Platform (EADP) team, you will work with the Senior Technical Lead of SysTest, building technologies to support the EA Systems Test (SysTest) team's goal of ensuring game launches are as smooth as possible. Working with the SysTest team, console and mobile game teams, and EADP services teams, you will focus on ensuring online services are scalable, reliable, and meet performance expectations.ResponsibilitiesModel game client online behaviour and develop realistic automated simulationsDevelop tools to support production-focused environmentsFollow standard software engineering processes and best practices for requirements, design, implementation, and testingYou will be a part of the exciting process of building AAA games for world-renowned franchisesYou will communicate with game teams and SysTest leadershipQualifications3+ years of experience with the development and testing of large-scale distributed systemsPractical experience with Java, C++, and PythonDemonstrated ability with software versioning systems and CI/CD pipelines and tools to implement them (i.e., Jenkins, Git, GitLab, and Perforce)Experience with cloud-based technologies (i.e., Amazon EC2, Kubernetes) and familiarity with microservices-oriented architecturesExperience incorporating AI into development workflows and building AI-based toolsStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions We thought you might also want to knowYou don’t need to be a gamer to succeed in this role—our team brings together people from a wide range of technical backgroundsPay Transparency - North AmericaCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. PAY RANGES* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$104,500 - $142,800 CADPay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.For Canada, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees.
