San Diego Studio is looking for a highly skilled Design Systems expert who thrives at the intersection of UX and Art. You’ll own, evolve, and maintain our Figma-based design system, while serving as a central hub between artists and UX designers. You’ll help shape both user and visual direction through scalable design patterns, reusable components, and thoughtful system governance. When needed, you’ll zoom into UX wireframes and ideation to support rapid concept development.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain a scalable design system in Figma used across product teams.
  • Create and document user pattern libraries that guide UX and visual decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with artists, UX designers, and engineers to ensure the design system reflects and informs both visual and interaction standards.
  • Deliver UX wireframes and flows when needed, based on product requirements and player insights.
  • Champion consistency, accessibility, and usability through design operations and system governance.
  • Audit and evolve design components based on real-world use, feedback, and new creative direction.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience designing user interfaces for video games.
  • Advanced knowledge of Figma.
  • Understanding of fundamental layout principles, usability, and interface design best practices.
  • Ability to produce high quality work quickly within strict deadlines and time constraints.
  • Agility to work with frequent design changes and iterations.
  • Excellent team player with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • General understanding of programming principles is a plus.
  • A passion for video games is a plus.
  • Experience working on Mobile apps/ Mobile games is a plus
