Job Description
Position overview
Our website is the second touchpoint for prospects who are interested in Xapo (after an organic search, or after seeing one of our many campaigns). It highlights our mission of growing and protecting customers' wealth—from high-level vision down to specific features—and there are plenty of features worth talking about: from earning yield on your bitcoin deposits, to spending BTC and USD using our card, to benefiting from our amazing exchange fees.
Our website is made up of our homepage and subsequent detail pages, as well as landing pages used for targeted traffic. It also serves as the main visual touchpoint for our brand’s look and feel.
As a Senior Website Designer, you’ll shape a first-class user experience in partnership with our Marketing and Product teams (who are involved in building all the amazing things you’ll design). This role is ideal for someone who loves creating world-class webpage designs that deliver a stunning experience while telling a cohesive and well-articulated story.
You’ll contribute to the information and content architecture of the website, as well as the visual presentation of our brand. You’ll decide on the best type of imagery, typography, and visual treatment for each block to effectively convey its message—ensuring everything is executed with consistency and class.
Responsibilities
Design website content in the form of pages, blocks, and elements from wireframe to pixel-perfect.
Collaborate with Marketing in order to draft and architect page content, making sure pages don’t just look stunning, but they tell a story.
Use and understand data to inform your architecture choices.
Effectively communicate your design thinking and visual choices to cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leadership.
Build functional prototypes to validate and test your designs.
Design elegant, scalable components that can be reused for future pages and can make up a website design library.
You’ll also:
Actively steer the website’s visual direction, taking a proactive role in its evolution, and helping define its feature and design roadmap.
Work together (and manage) various stakeholders including a Product Manager, Engineers, a Content Writer, our VP of marketing, ensuring your design ideas and direction is clear and well communicated.
Bring high-level (sometimes vague) concepts into execution, and establish workflows for getting there in a structured way
Make sure your designs don’t just live in a pretty Figma page but bring them to life by working together with engineers in a pragmatic way
Skills needed
Visual design: this will be the core skill of the role: you are able to craft visually compelling experiences and layouts.
Motion design and storytelling: you bring static designs to life in ways that are pleasing and not overdesigned. You connect motion and interactive motion design to storytelling, so that content springs to life as users browse through it.
Brand design: you will be translating our brand into visual assets
An eye for video and photography, and the ability to use tools to make quick edits, extend existing videos, and make your own director’s cut.
A strong sense for good copy and content writing: this role isn’t for a copywriter, but you will need to ensure that design goes hand in hand with perfect content.
Bonus points if you understand the technicalities of building websites and/or are proficient with no-code tools such as Frame or, Webflow.
