With multiple awards to our name, Larian Studios has proven that we’re dedicated to delivering high-quality role-playing games As we move on to new projects, the studio that brought you Baldur’s Gate 3 & Divinity: Original Sin 2 is looking for a Junior Technical Artist to join the team and help us in crafting the high calibre games our fans have come to expect.Responsibilities Provide technical follow-up to the art team in regards to performance and guidelines. Design, implement and optimize shaders while meeting artistic and technical requirements. Develop art pipeline tools and extensions with an eye towards usability and efficiency. Requirements An understanding of mathematics, including trigonometry and linear algebra, with the ability to apply them effectively. 1 - 2 years of experience in game development or related fields. Basic concepts of 3D rendering (notably the bigger render stages and what they do, screen space operations, Physically Based rendering). An understanding of digital art content creation pipelines (high and low-poly modelling, unwrapping, baking, texturing, level building). Proficiency in python with an understanding of code architecture to develop maintainable tools. Experience with Maya, Houdini, Substance Designer and Painter. Ability to work with technical documentation. Team oriented and a strong desire for collaborative participation in a team-based pipeline across different geographic locations. Nice to Haves Knowledge of different high level coding languages (C#, C++, etc.) and HLSL, both in a real time and DCC context What We Offer An international team of over 500 employees spread across 7 studios around the world, each of which have their own unique qualities, and maintain a small-studio feel.
