✍️ MASTER THE NARRATIVE: WHERE CREATIVITY MEETS CONSERVATION

You are a storyteller who understands that every word carries the weight of a mission. You don’t just write copy; you craft identities that resonate, inspire action, and convert curiosity into commitment. You thrive at the intersection of tight, emotive prose and high-level brand strategy, seeing the "big picture" while never letting a single comma out of place.

You’re prepared to step into a leadership role where your voice defines the global presence of impact-driven travel. You aren’t just looking for a creative outlet; you’re looking to lead a team of digital professionals in a fast-paced environment where your strategies directly contribute to the growth of conservation and education initiatives worldwide.

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS
As our Senior Copywriter & Brand Manager, you are the guardian of our voice across our most influential brands: GVI, Bushwise, IFGA, and World of Difference. By setting the standard for copywriting excellence and progressive brand identities, you ensure our message cuts through the noise. Your work is the bridge between our global impact and the audiences—specifically Gen Z and purpose-led travellers—who will make that impact a reality.

🎯 WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Defining the Identity: Recommending and implementing progressive brand identities to position GVI, Bushwise, and our partner brands for massive global growth.
  • Hands-on Content Creation: Writing, editing, and delivering high-impact copy across web, paid media, email, social, campaigns, presentations, brochures, blogs, and other marketing assets.
  • Leading with Excellence: Setting the gold standard for copywriting within the team, ensuring every piece of content—from social posts to brochures—is tight, emotive, and high-converting.
  • Driving Multi-Channel Campaigns: Creating and overseeing promotional campaigns across the web, paid media, email, blogs, and presentations.
  • Strategic Team Leadership: Managing and mentoring a team of digital professionals to define strategic direction across video, social, and web platforms.
  • Obsessing Over Growth: Using clever copy and creative strategy to drive commercial metrics, including social followers, CTR, and site conversion, with a strong focus on improving performance across key user touchpoints.
  • Ensuring Integrity: Owning and overseeing editorial and QA processes to ensure SEO optimisation, brand alignment, and ethical integrity across all content
  • Crisis Communications: Owning and guiding the communications approach during sensitive or high-risk situations, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and brand integrity.
  • Innovating for the Future: Monitoring and integrating insights on emerging topics like Gen Z culture, identity politics, and conservation trends to keep our marketing ahead of the curve.

🚀 WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

  • 6+ years of experience as a copywriter with a proven track record of emotive storytelling.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Brand Manager or in a similar strategic leadership role.
  • A degree or qualification in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage, train, and shape a high-performing communications team.

Bonus if you also have:

  • Experience working with Gen Z brands targeting UK and US audiences.
  • A background in a fast-paced agency environment.
  • First-hand travel experience or an understanding of the volunteering and gap-year sector.

🎉 WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

  • A monthly salary of R50 000 – R55 000, depending on experience.
  • Generous leave policy to keep you refreshed and inspired.
  • Global Growth: Opportunities to scale your career within a worldwide organisation.
  • Authentic Culture: A flexible, collaborative environment that values your unique voice.
  • Direct Impact: Regular connection with senior leadership and a seat at the table for brand evolution.
  • Holistic Support: Access to in-house wellbeing support because your mental health matters.
