Job Description

CREATOR RELATIONS LEAD

Summary

The Wikimedia Foundation seeks a Creator Relations Lead to build and manage a world-class creator relations approach that extends Wikipedia’s reach to new and younger audiences on social media. Our work on social media aims to build an engaged online community of young people that love, learn from, engage with, trust and share Wikipedia content on these platforms. You can read more about it here

This role will own the full lifecycle of creator relations including sourcing, vetting, negotiating, contracting, onboarding, and ensuring on-time and on-brand delivery. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role that’s best suited for someone who excels at owning complex workflows end-to-end. From identifying standout emerging creators to managing redlines and ensuring on-time deliverables, this role will help deliver a consistent, high-quality pipeline of content that supports Wikipedia’s growth, relevance, and relationship with diverse communities on social media. Ideally you are:

  • Organized and proactive, able to manage end-to-end creator workflows without dropped threads.
  • Deeply familiar with creator ecosystems and the nuances of negotiating and structuring partnerships.
  • Meticulous with details — contracts, deliverables, timelines, usage rights, and compliance.
  • Comfortable acting as the bridge between creators, legal, finance, social, and broader Communications teams.

As the Creator Relations Lead, you will primarily work independently and be accountable for:

Creator sourcing and vetting

  • Owning end-to-end creator relations strategy for campaigns by interpreting internal briefs and business priorities to design approaches and recommend talent mixes.
  • Evaluating creator fit using comprehensive criteria including content quality, brand alignment, audience demographics, engagement metrics, and cost efficiency.

Negotiating and contracting

  • Leading complex negotiations on scope, rates, usage, rights, and timelines with creators and their teams.
  • Managing contracting processes, including redlining, legal review, and final approvals, ensuring compliance while accelerating turnaround.

Production oversight & delivery

  • Coordinating internal reviews to ensure clear, actionable, and timely feedback is shared with creators.
  • Proactively troubleshooting challenges, resolving blockers, and maintaining smooth workflows across multiple simultaneous campaigns.

Operational excellence

  • Developing and maintaining organized systems for tracking creators, deliverables, contracts, and usage rights at scale.
  • Staying up-to-date on industry trends, platform innovations, and evolving best practices to continually refine the creator program.

Skills and Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in creator  partnerships, talent management, or creator operations — with a deep, working command of every stage of the creator pipeline.
  • Established relationships with talent managers and a strong network across the creator ecosystem.
  • Expert-level understanding of creator economy dynamics, industry-standard deal structures, and best practices across platforms.
  • Proven ability to independently manage and execute multiple creator workflows end-to-end without oversight.
  • Extensive experience negotiating rates, scopes, usage rights, and long-term partnership agreements.
  • Strong familiarity with contracting processes, redlining, and collaborating closely with legal teams to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Qualities that are important to us:

  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for the Wikimedia mission and free knowledge.
  • Flexibility and resilience — comfortable working in an evolving environment.
  • Openness to experimentation and learning from results.
  • A collaborative spirit with a demonstrated ability to work across diverse teams, cultures and geographies
  • A sense of humor and a genuine love of creators and the internet.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and comfortable with ambiguity.
