Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Amazon Marketplace (Brand Management) to lead the strategy, growth, and operational excellence of a large-scale Amazon business exceeding $100M+ in annual revenue. This leader will be responsible for owning the Amazon channel end-to-end — including growth strategy, competitive intelligence, catalog optimization, pricing strategy, advertising coordination, inventory planning, and operational oversight across both FBA and FBM.

The ideal candidate combines deep Amazon expertise, analytical rigor, and strategic leadership to drive sustainable growth while protecting brand equity and marketplace performance. This role functions as the general manager of the Amazon business, accountable for revenue growth, profitability, and long-term marketplace dominance.

Key Responsibilities

Amazon Business Ownership

  • Own the overall Amazon P&L and growth strategy
  • Develop long-term plans to scale marketplace revenue while maintaining profitability
  • Identify new opportunities to expand market share within key product categories
  • Partner with leadership on marketplace strategy and channel expansion

Competitive Intelligence & Market Strategy

  • Conduct ongoing analysis of competitors, pricing dynamics, and category trends
  • Identify threats from emerging competitors or private label sellers
  • Monitor keyword rankings, category performance, and share of voice
  • Develop strategies to defend and grow category leadership

Catalog Optimization & Conversion Strategy

  • Oversee continuous improvement of Amazon product listings
  • Lead optimization of: Titles, Bullet points, A+ content, Images and video, Storefront experience
  • Monitor listing health and indexing performance
  • Drive improvements in conversion rate and organic ranking

Pricing & Marketplace Strategy

  • Manage pricing strategy to maintain competitiveness while protecting margins
  • Monitor Buy Box performance and pricing parity across channels
  • Identify opportunities for promotional campaigns and seasonal pushes

Advertising & Traffic Growth

  • Partner with the performance marketing team to oversee Amazon advertising strategy
  • Analyze performance across: Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display, DSP campaigns
  • Ensure advertising investment aligns with profitability targets
  • Identify opportunities to grow both paid and organic traffic

Inventory & Supply Chain Alignment

  • Collaborate with supply chain teams to maintain optimal inventory levels
  • Prevent stockouts and lost ranking due to inventory issues
  • Manage FBA planning including inbound shipments and replenishment strategies
  • Monitor stranded inventory and fulfillment performance

Marketplace Health & Brand Protection

  • Monitor account health and ensure compliance with Amazon policies
  • Address listing hijackers, unauthorized sellers, and MAP violations
  • Work with Amazon support and brand registry to resolve enforcement issues
  • Protect brand integrity within the marketplace

Operational Oversight

  • Oversee all operational aspects of Amazon Seller Central
  • Ensure timely resolution of support cases, listing issues, and catalog conflicts
  • Develop SOPs and systems that improve operational efficiency

Team Leadership

  • Build and manage a team supporting Amazon growth, including: Marketplace managers, Catalog specialists, Operations monitors, Advertising coordinators
  • Establish clear KPIs and performance tracking across the team
  • Create scalable processes that support continued marketplace growth

Required Experience

  • 8+ years managing Amazon marketplace businesses
  • Proven experience managing Amazon brands exceeding $50M+ in revenue
  • Deep expertise across: Amazon SEO, Catalog management, Advertising strategy, Competitive intelligence, Seller Central operations.
  • Experience scaling high-growth consumer brands on Amazon
