About the Role

The Junior Proposal Manager is a Product Marketing–owned role that supports the development, management, and submission of high-quality RFP, RFI, and proposal responses in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This position focuses on content development, organization, optimization, and compliance, working in close partnership with Sales, Product, Legal, Finance, Professional Services, and Customer Success. 

This role plays a key part in supporting revenue growth by helping the organization respond quickly and effectively to inbound RFPs, ensuring proposal content is accurate, differentiated, on-brand, and aligned to buyer needs. The role offers exposure to product positioning, competitive messaging, and sales enablement, with opportunities to grow into more senior proposal, product marketing, or sales enablement roles over time. 

Responsibilities 

RFP & Proposal Development Support 

  • Support the preparation, writing, editing, and submission of RFP responses, RFIs, and proposals under the direction of Product Marketing. 
  • Draft clear, persuasive, and compliant content aligned with customer requirements, Product Marketing messaging, and sales strategy. 
  • Prepare first drafts for defined proposal sections such as company overview, product descriptions, implementation, customer support, and security responses. 
  • Gather required RFP inputs from Sales, Product, Marketing, Legal, Finance, Professional Services, and Customer Success. 
  • Track and manage critical RFP milestones, including Q&A deadlines, amendment releases, and final submission timelines. 
  • Track amendment acknowledgments and ensure all updates are reflected accurately in final submissions. 
  • Review proposal content for accuracy, clarity, consistency, and adherence to brand voice. 
  • Support proposal compliance checks to ensure all required forms, attachments, certifications, and signatures are included before submission. 

Content Management & Development 

  • Maintain, organize, and continuously improve RFP content libraries, templates, and standardized responses to increase efficiency, consistency, and scalability. 
  • Draft and maintain reusable response content for common RFP sections to reduce turnaround time and improve quality. 
  • Partner closely with the Product Marketing team to stay informed on product messaging, value propositions, technical descriptions, competitive positioning, and product updates. 
  • Ensure proposal content remains current, accurate, and aligned with approved product and brand messaging. 
  • Manage shared proposal resources using version control and collaboration best practices. 

Sales & Proposal Strategy Collaboration 

  • Work directly with Sales to understand customer needs, proposal objectives, and deal context. 
  • Support proposal strategy by tailoring messaging to customer priorities, buyer personas, use cases, and competitive landscape. 
  • Apply Product Marketing guidance to ensure proposals clearly articulate product value, differentiation, and outcomes. 

Process Improvement & Reporting 

  • Track RFP submissions and outcomes to support basic reporting and performance insights. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve proposal workflows, templates, and content reuse. 
  • Contribute to maintaining consistency, quality, and accuracy across all proposal materials. 
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase proposal effectiveness and efficiency. 

Success in this Role Looks Like 

  • Consistently meeting proposal deadlines with minimal rework or escalation. 
  • Increasing reuse of standardized, approved proposal content. 
  • Delivering clear, accurate, and customer-aligned drafts that require fewer revisions. 
  • Positive feedback from Sales and Product Marketing on proposal quality and alignment. 

 

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: 
    • RFP writing, proposal coordination, or related business writing 
    • Product marketing, technical writing, or content development 
    • B2B marketing, sales enablement, communications, or similar roles 
  • Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail and tone. 
  • Experience managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Proven ability to synthesize technical and product information into clear, customer-focused messaging. 
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills. 
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Marketing, and other teams. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and collaborative content tools. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience responding to RFPs, RFIs, or proposals in SaaS, EdTech, GovTech, or B2B environments. 
  • Familiarity with proposal management tools or content libraries. 
  • Experience supporting sales enablement or revenue-focused initiatives. 
  • Basic understanding of competitive positioning and messaging strategy.
