Job Description

Our client is a growing technology solutions provider operating in a fast-paced, innovation-led environment. They are seeking an Account Manager to play a pivotal role in driving commercial growth through a blend of new business acquisition and strategic account development.

This role sits at the intersection of business development and account management. You will be responsible for identifying and winning new clients, while also nurturing and expanding those relationships into long-term, high-value partnerships.

You’ll take ownership of the full lifecycle, from initial outreach through to onboarding and ongoing account growth, ensuring clients not only choose our client, but continue to invest and expand over time.

The Role:

You will:

  • Drive new business acquisition by identifying, targeting, and converting high-potential prospects across key sectors
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline, managing opportunities from lead generation through to contract negotiation and close
  • Adopt a consultative sales approach, uncovering client challenges and positioning tailored technology solutions
  • Take ownership of onboarding new clients, ensuring a seamless transition from prospect to active account
  • Develop and grow key accounts, identifying upsell, cross-sell, and expansion opportunities post-sale
  • Act as a trusted advisor, building long-term relationships based on value, insight, and delivery
  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, delivery, technical) to create compelling proposals and ensure successful outcomes
  • Maintain visibility of account performance, pipeline activity, and revenue forecasting via CRM tools
  • Continuously refine your approach to both new business and account growth, contributing to best practices across the team

What They’re Looking For:

Experience & Knowledge

  • 3–5+ years’ experience in consultative sales / business development / account management within IT services, software, or technology solutions
  • Proven track record of winning new business and growing client accounts
  • Experience managing the full sales lifecycle, from prospecting through to deal closure and account development
  • Strong understanding of technology solutions / IT services / managed services
  • Exposure to public sector procurement and frameworks would be advantageous
  • Experience using CRM systems and sales reporting tools

  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and convert opportunities
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to balance new business focus with ongoing account management responsibilities
  • Confident communicator with strong presentation and proposal writing skills

  • Proactive, organised, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
